Market value for Porter is down' could return to Saints
 

Right before free agency opened, New Orleans Saints cornerback Tracy Porter said he was looking forward to see how many teams were interested in him. Unfortunately, he got his answer as he still remains unsigned.

Porter initially received some calls early on from teams like the St. Louis Rams. However they chose to sign cornerback Cortland Finnegan instead, probably because of his ties to current head coach Jeff Fisher.

Then Porter made the trek to see the Cincinnati Bengals for a visit. The Bengals then made a move to sign cornerback Jason Allen and Porter left again without being signed.

Of course between these visits, cornerbacks like Carlos Rogers, Brandon Carr, and Ronald Bartell were either being signed to big contracts with their teams or to another.

Porter does have another visit lined up for this week with the Oakland Raiders. He probably has his best chance here because head coach Dennis Allen was also his secondary coach when Allen was with the Saints.

Allen knows what Porter is capable of and they are also in need of a cornerback since they did some major housecleaning in the secondary not long after the season ended.

If the market isn't that good for him it makes him cheaper for us re-sign, save some cap room

At the right price he'd be a really good re-sign, but just don't overpay him, because he'll more than likely be the #3 CB and he'll have to compete with Patrick over that spot.

Free agent CB Tracy Porter has scheduled visits with the Titans and Rams.

Porter visited the Bengals last week. It's believed he was in Oakland visiting the Raiders on Monday. Still only 25, medical concerns may be lowering Porter's market value to the point where he'd accept a one-year, "prove-it" deal.

Not really news... It was pretty clear to me that his best shot was with the Raiders because of Dennis Allen.

Dennis will want him because of his tackling skills..........I mean coverage skills.

Broncos next on Tracy Porter

ESPN’s Bill Williamson reports that the Denver Broncos will host free agent cornerback Tracy Porter at their club headquarters on Wednesday.

Porter was in Tennessee on Tuesday meeting with Titans officials.

In Denver, Porter’s signing would likely cost Andre’ Goodman his starting job, and potentially his roster spot altogether. Goodman turns 34 before the season and is owed $4.62 million in base salary.

Porter is the top cornerback left on the 2012 free agent market. He has drawn interest from the Raiders, Bengals, Rams, Broncos, and Titans, among others.

Porter was expected to visit Raiders headquarters early this week, but that meeting was postponed after Oakland signed Shawntae Spencer to go along with Ronald Bartell.
