BOYCOTT THE NFL

This punishment is unreal and way out of line. I say as fans we support Sean and Mickey and whoever else get suspended. We dont BUY anything WATCH anything and dont ATTEND anything associated with the NFL!
MR Goodell I hope you have the runs for a year......

Belair57 03-21-2012 12:49 PM

we have 20 something defensive players involved right? If they gut our D and suspend all those D players involved..I just might boycott them

I thought about that too, but that would hurt our team, more than God-dell, and we need to support our team now, more than ever. We need to all get T-Shirts with a hand flipping the bird and the caption underneath saying "This One's For You, Goodell WHO DAT!! " and wear them to all the games and everywhere around the State, Country and World, so that this arse hole will see how the people feel.

JimmyB1775 03-21-2012 01:03 PM

This isn't that hard. We cancel the cable packages we have which include NFL Network, Sunday Ticket or whatever.
Attending games is tough because it brings revenue to both the Saints and the NFL as well as the city.
A healthy protest of Goddell on either TV or internet would get a point accross. Not just on message boards.
We obviously don't buy any merchandise.
What else though? Not much we can do that won't bring more attention to the NFL and that EFF-FACE Goddell

WHODATNJ 03-21-2012 01:06 PM

We spend way to much of our hard earned money and we dont deserve to be penalized to the point that our team cannot be competitive. The fans are the ones being punished the most. I could understand draft pics and money fines but this is way over the top.

SaintPauly 03-21-2012 01:09 PM

I know this much.... Goodell might want to sit out going to the superbowl this year.... Talk about boo's...... The roof of the dome might get blown off with the levels of hatred he's going to recieve...

Try being a Rams fan and seeing very few wins since 2007 at home. :(

Anyways, the punishment is just. I am a bit shocked by how long Payton is suspended.

Did you actually just say that the punishment is just.... and tell a Saints something fan about watching a team lose ball games? We haent just lost a lot of games in a season... weve lost decades worth of games.

Epic Fail post.

Euphoria 03-21-2012 01:40 PM

Well we can throw the whole season away now.

GO BRONCO'S!

Marlboro Man 03-21-2012 01:51 PM

As fans, we could boycott games like the Hall of Fame Game, that would take a whole state and it's fans around the world out of the Neilson Ratings. Then we could not watch any playoff games or the Super Bowl if the Saints aren't in it.

As for Saints players, I would not talk to any national sports writers, only local news reporters. If the national press wants anything, see the local sports writers. If asked a question on television, the player should say "No Comment" and walk off. At any sports event when a national sports writer asks a question, the player should say, "No Comment". The team and players could have a private press conference with their local only sports writers and tabloids, but not say anything to the national media period. Snub them as they have snubbed us.

Personally I'm not going to boycott anything. I love the NFL and will be watching my Sunday Ticket just like every other year. Hell, that's like asking me to boycott crawfish ... or beer. No way!!

Business as usual eh?

Not me. I'll watch games (and that's IF I decide to watch) for free on TV or hacked on the web. I am increasingly disgusted with what the NFL is becoming under Goodell's watch, and I am FURIOUS at the motivation for all this, which is pre-trial posturing. It's sickening. I don't understand why other people don't feel the same way. Seriously. I just don't understand. We don't have a team without the league. The game is changing right before our eyes and people are willing to say "it's all going to be okay". It's NOT okay. Not if you are a football fan.

Euphoria 03-21-2012 02:17 PM

The only way to be heard is protests outside games and don't buy tickets to the games.

Easier said than done.

We'd have to be organized...

WHODATNJ 03-21-2012 02:20 PM

Well lets get organized....Preserve the game of Football!

Saintlyone 03-21-2012 02:36 PM

Already done. I'm taking my oldest boy golfing on Sundays. Screw the NFL. I'll watch LSU and that's about it. Still a Saints fan, just not of the NFL anymore.

papz 03-21-2012 02:38 PM

It's the emotions talking. Once training camp starts back up, everyone will be alright.

Then what do you call the 49ers and Pats punishments for bona fide CHEATING... for years! Those punishments were not nearly as harsh as what the Saints got. It's anything but just.

QBREES9 03-21-2012 02:42 PM

No one did anything to Stop it. No one did the right thing, and on top of it they lied. Really ! It's been going on for three years. Dumb ! thats all it was DUMB !

Saintlyone 03-21-2012 02:45 PM

Don't forget that Stallworth got the same punishment for killing someone while driving drunk.

We cancel it TODAY... I'm canceling my Sunday Ticket today. Cancelling it any other day will be little to no impact. I'm making a statement.

No sir. It isn't. The game has changed. Drastically. We already see it on the field and it just got magnitudes worse. If not now, then very soon you will see players afraid to play the game the way it has historically been played.

The dynamics of 'getting after the QB' are already a thing of the past. Every hit is scrutinized by the league. This will not get better. The NFL is over. It is already and will become an even bigger shell of what I knew and loved.

The game is different now. What you are about to see is Arena football played on a 100 yard field. Defense is done.

JoanieNTX 03-21-2012 03:30 PM

How about not buying ANY, and I mean ANY NFL merchandise this year? I, for one, am not going to. I bought my Saints bounty t-shirt...it's not NFL. We want the NFL to feel the impact..not local fans and businesses. No jerseys, caps, etc. We need to make a pact NOT to! It's important, people. Buy Who Dat stuff designed and sold by locals!

Dude. We've seen very few wins since 1968, what's your point. We've just now gotten a good team and thanks to GW this is what we have left, and his defenses SUCKED.

saintsfan601 03-21-2012 05:47 PM

Your not going to hurt the nfl by boycotting. Your going to hurt the Saints And they need our support more than ever right now.
