I think as long as the core players are there with whom ever is not suspended, you guys should be able to hold it together enough to be a playoff contender. The same offense and what not should still be in place right?

The same offense is there, minus Meachem...

Goodell has the player penalties to go. That's where he can ruin our season, depending on suspensions of the defensive players...

I appears that there are a few on the forum that think this is no big deal.
IT IS! You can pretty much kiss the season goodbye, Brees may sit out if not contract is done, the lost of the 2 second round draft picks will have a severe impact on our future. And who is to say that Payton will even stay, if he was getting 7.5 million, I am sure some team out there will give him 9 or 10 to coach and maybe bring Brees with him. Get out the brown bags cause here comes the AINTS!

Payton is under contract until the 2015 season, he can't just up and leave...

who calls the plays? you guys didnt have payton on the sidelines last eyar for a while either. You guys will be fine as long as that same system is there. You also won't be losing your DC. He was already gone. You guys will be fine.

look who throwing Payton under the bus:

3. Coach Williams acknowledged that he designed and implemented the program with the assistance of certain defensive players. He said that he did so after being told by Saints Head Coach Sean Payton that his assignment was to make the defense “nasty..”

I don't undervalue Sean, but the offensive system has been established for 6 years now. Spags knows what he is doing with the D. The Colts were still the Colts with Manning no matter who the HC was and the Saints will be the Saints with Drew. Yes, he's not been signed to a long term deal, but thinking it won't happen is jumping the gun. Let Mickey do his job (while he still can).

I am so sick. I wanted to cry at work when I heard the news.

Breahte. Ok.
GW, I cannot stand this man.

He was gone anyway.

Penatly.
Draft choices. No big deal. Take them all . Take this year and next. My opinion of Saints draft choices, and that was when the Saints were really a low team and were high up in the draft, the players they got were really not very good. The people did not want to be in a low pr/tv market and for a team that was not very good.
Even now, N.O is still not a big market. Big city. Fancy city. It is not NYC, Miami, etc.
Saints are not NFL darlings like Dallas Cowboys.

Expelling GW from the NFL indefinitely, ok.
SP and Loomis , I figured a few games.
SP for a year. That is really severe.

I do not know what I am saying. I am still in shock.

I do hope the Saints players come back and win. Win for Benson, Saints, SP, and this city again.
I hope Saints sign Brees to a good contract for the next two years.
I hope Brees still wants to be here.
