Packers Bounty and nothing happens to them!!!

NFL won't punish Packers for 'bounty rule' violation - USATODAY.com

ARE U F$%%^ KIDDING ME!!!!

Goodell has a red-headed stepchild and he wears a fleur-de-lis.

SaintPauly 03-21-2012 02:49 PM

It's the same thing.... I want to see proof that our players were out to actually hurt someone..... Still haven't seen it..... But GB is ok, even though they were receiving payments outside of their contracts.... whatever Goodell.... You still suck....

FinSaint 03-21-2012 05:37 PM

Well, at least they could've lost some cap room because of the CBA violation.

frankeefrank 03-21-2012 06:42 PM

First the "home" game in Giants Stadium against the Giants.
Then taking a "home" game to London
Then changing the rules because the Saints beat Brett Favre.
Now this...
I am kind of sensing the league doesn't like us.

We should egg his arse everytime he comes here. Nobody else, just him.

73Saint 03-21-2012 06:57 PM

Packers didn't cover it up. That's what got us.

Still, they violated the CBA knowingly, so they should've been punished, just not as harsh as the Saints were.

You just now getting that message. I could go on and on and on but I don't feel like wasting my time. They aren't going to punish ANYONE BUT THE SAINTS on this issue and to me that says LAW SUIT.

onebyone 03-21-2012 07:04 PM

We are taking the punishment for anyone who ever had a bounty system in all of the nfl. It makes me sick.

No. We are taking the punishment for the NFL's own failure to police the practice of EVERY TEAM IN THE NFL where players were shot up with drugs and/or otherwise intimidated to play injured while the league manufactured a tough-guy image to its core demographic. Period.

The league is being dragged kicking and screaming into court by these former "heroes" and needs to save face. This is just a part of their save face plan. Unfortunately for the Saints we documented our program and air-mailed a ready-made escape route.

OldMaid 03-21-2012 07:15 PM

Same thing , different team.
I am not one of those who cry, "But they did it too."

The wording is different and the GB case was in 2007.
All I can say is here is a vowel and buy a clue.
Saints heads who allowed this were wrong. For the umpteeth time, I do not like ugly palyers. Nasty hits. NFL does not mean to cripple opponents.
Saints head honchos needed to be punished.
The punishments from Goodell were way too severe.
So be it.
Saints coaching staff and non coaching staff need to just do it. Play for broke. The Saints can win just as any other team.
Pay Brees his worth. Pay him for two years.
Make this year happen.

Agreed.

That Packers "incentive" was against the rules, but do you not see the difference? The Saints were getting money for carting players off the field. That was adding incentive to hurting players. The Packers were getting money for playing well. HUGE difference between "$1,000 for a cart off" and "$500 for holding Adrian Peterson to under 100 yards rushing".

Since I'm here, I might as well bring a little bit of joy to you Saints fans.

Have a laugh.

Exactly, if they stopped when they were first told, it wouldn't have got to this point.

darstep 03-22-2012 09:44 AM

Now this is what I DID NOT want to hear.
If we are going to get 40 lashes, everybody ought to get something.
Cut off a pinky...something!
Just be fair!

dueceloose 03-22-2012 09:44 AM

Probably just making an example out of us and making it seem they honestly care about players health since they have a lawsuit against the em.

BGWhoDat 03-22-2012 10:29 AM

The difference is... the Saints aren't being punished for the incentives that were against the CBA.

Let me make this clear.

They're being punished for PAYING A PLAYER AFTER THEY INJURE SOMEONE. The Packers did not do this.

SaintsBro 03-22-2012 12:39 PM

The fact that this incident with the Packers has not been talked about in the media at all -- this is first I've heard of it -- speaks volumes to the fact that the league wants to put the hammer down specifically on the Saints, and then sweep this whole thing under the rug as quickly as possible. Skeletons are being crammed back into team closets as we speak.

Presumably your owner doesn't like you either, because the home games in London are chosen with the owner's consent. You're making a heck of a conspiracy theory.

saintsfan1976 03-22-2012 08:05 PM

Packers were asked to stop. They did.

Saints were asked to stop. Said they had, but continued.

That's the difference. Everything else is open to interpretation.

Choupique 03-22-2012 08:12 PM

Some owners of teams in the NFL have ties to the mafia.

They can act all squeaky clean but it is televised legal assault on any given sunday, period.

The romans had the gladiators. We have the NFL, regardless of a politically correct society.

Any team that had a bounty system should be dealt with in a similar fashion. Thing is, the fudge packers are the "all mighty" nfl godlike image they all pray to.

It is all a crock of sh.it, basically. Pro football isn't squeaky clean. Welcome to reality.
