I thought that he was the LB most likely to sign with the Saints, because he will be the most affordable out of them and due to his relationship with Spags.

But he is an OLB, so do we see Shanle moving on?

From all I've read he's a decent OLB who knows Spags system well, but nothing spectacular.

But I wonder, is decent an upgrade over what we have? I tend to think so.

I agree.

He has pretty good size and from what I've read he does have good movement ability on the field - he played the weak-side linebacker with the Rams/Spags if I remember correctly.

He was a 7th round draft pick, so don't expect a lot of college tape to be available for the guy, and he wasn't a star in the Rams' s system, so he probably doesn't have many die-hard fans.

Chris Chamberlain

Chamberlain played better than expected on the weakside. He graded out overall with a 3.6 mark from PFF, second only to James Laurinaitis. His numbers won't blow anyone away, but he was consistently positive against the run. In coverage, Chamberlain did well, but struggled against Vernon Davis ... as did most linebackers assigned to cover him.

—LB Chris Chamberlain improved his game in 2012 and was solid on the weak side. He has also been one of the club's best special teams player.

Chris Chamberlain, OLB, Rams. Age: 26.
Chris Chamberlain is a special teams ace and a solid reserve/two-down spot starter at linebacker. He plays well against the run, but gets lost in coverage.

You know if he can be a younger version of Shanle when he was good, it certainly wouldn't be a bad thing.
