EMBRACE THE HATE!!!!!

Listen....it sucks. The whole thing sucks. Nothing we can do about it, not one darn thing we try to do will help or hurt anyone short of still supporting the team. Screw the fans saying, lose the trophy, we're garbage....blah blah blah.

EMBRACE THE HATE!!!! EMBRACE IT and move on.

There is a wrestler who that's his saying: "Embrace the Hate", I just figured you were a fan.

And no I don't follow, I'm more the non-fake MMA fan...

Ah gotcha...no I don't follow it. Might of heard it in passing by my sons room playing his wrestling game. Makes sense though. Tired of all the whining.

This is not "whining;" This is Pissed off!!!!!!!:pissed:

It's good to be hated. Means you must be kicking everyone's a$$.

lumm0x 03-24-2012 01:37 PM

I sincerely don't care what some irrelevant fan of another team thinks of the Saints or about me as a fan. Hate all you want. Changes nothing of my perception or enjoyment of the game.

There does not seem to be a decent way to move forward other than to support our team. There is no "classy" out that I can see.

I am used to being hated - even worse seen as irrelevant. I don't care what the rest of the country thinks of us. Never have.

I hope we can use this as motivation and go onto not only be the first team to host our own superbowl (tm) - but to be the first to get there with a suspended head coach.

They - by the way - will still hate us. I would say get used to it - but if you are a Saints fan you already are.

Payton always rubbed me the wrong way with his arrogance, and although I think this bountygate thing is chicken doo doo, I still can't help but think that things would not have been so bad if A) Payton had put a stop to it when first contacted by the league, and B) would not have tried to cover it up.

I am speculating that Payton has rubbed some people besides me the wrong way, and now is paying a price that, in his mind, he didn't think he would ever have to pay.

Furthermore, I am speculating that possibly Brees has not signed yet because he knows a suspension is coming to him. Brees and Payton have been connected at the hip since Drew's arrival, and I would have a hard time believing that Drew was unaware and it isn't too far fetched for me to believe that he contributed to the pots in a major way.

It really unnerves me that people are so ready to just overlook Payton's role in all this and want to keep him on that pedestal even though we may suffer big time just because he was too proud to admit that he screwed-up.

There...I said it.

Nothing was done here that wasn't done elsewhere. And if you read the report filed by the league, it says that the league wasn't satisfied with the efforts to shut it down...not that it wasn't shut down.

I'm not giving Sean a pass. I don't think anybody is. But the next time you do some jaywalking or change a lane without using your blinker or get stopped for speeding while you were in a group of 31 other cars, each of you driving 90 mph but only YOU get the ticket...and you are fined 8 million dollars and suspended from your job...THEN think about what the NFL did to Sean and see if you feel differently.

The road games will definitely be ugly, maybe it will fire up the Saints to score big in other's houses.

Arrogance, is just his style. Good coaches coach to their personality. When he lines the offense to be up by three touchdowns instead of two in the final 4 minutes of a game it's arrogance.

I like it. Its who he is and who this team is. People will get offended and whine and cry (Falcons mostly) but he will drop forty on a team simply because he can.

Look, I'm not suggesting Payton should be Pope and I would hope he doesn't change a thing when he gets back. His arrogance cost him this time it what it is.

darstep 03-26-2012 12:20 PM

One man's arrogance is another man's humility. It just depends on which side of the coin you are viewing. Payton, at some level of buy-in and agreement, has to keep 60 or so whiney millionair atheletes, along with staff, all on the same page, trying to accomplish one goal and hope that nobody disrupts the cohesiveness of that unit. I'm guessing that every now and then, he has to be the biggest Ahole in the room to keep making the right things happen and keep everybody doing their job. If it comes off as arrogant, then oh well! Knowing how difficult that can be, I have to cut him some slack. He doesn't get a pass, but he does get some slack.

Thanks, people, for not flaming me. I read some really great responses. This place is the best, no doubt.
