They had a chance for revenge this year when we went to their house but they could not beat us there either.

Well, to be honest they pretty much couldn't beat anyone else this past season than themselves. ;-)

In the first quarter, Brett Favre handed the ball off to Percy Harvin and took a nasty shot to the chin from defensive lineman Bobby McCray. The play drew a 15-yard unnecessary-roughness penalty and an eventual fine.

"I had never seen that before in my life," Kluwe told ESPN Radio.

Kluwe is an outspoken type, and he thinks the league was right to come down hard on the Saints for their "bounty" program.

Said Kluwe: "My position has always been that I think Vilma and Gregg Williams should be banned for life and then Payton should get a year, their GM should get a year and anyone who knowingly took money after a hit that injured someone should get a year as well."

NFL.com news: Vikings' Kluwe: NFL must ban Vilma, Williams for life

I can't speak to these two specifically, but this is the same league that called for giving a man that TORTURED animals a second chance. How he "deserved" it.

How many analyst did the same, and applauded Philadelphia for giving said second chance. Can you really take anyone seriously when they support a human that tortured animals to death, but act like paying extra for harder play should result in lifetime bans.

Get your priorities straight.

I agree, for every hit that was not flagged by the officials, fined by the NFL, and/or resulted in a player being 'carted off'/'knocked-out and payment was received, that player should be out at least a year.

So, what would that be? One player? Maybe two? I have yet to see anything real that supports the idea that what Greg Williams was doing led to any more of a 'mercenary' mentality then is already prevelant in the NFL.

The league can argue, due to Williams' faulty use of descriptive terms, that intent was there. The league can argue non-contractual payments were made and the Saints failed to put an end to it after being warned, but exactly how many hits outside of league parameters & resulting in a cart-off/knock-out were there?

Not very many. And now Congress wants to look into it ... oh, brother ...

I agree with you.
There was one cart off and that was Saints coach Sean Payton :D
Congress , whaaat? That figures! Our govt. wants to investigate , again, something that is not impt.

Add to your list the guys in the NFL who were convicted because of drugs, murder!! HEllo.

I agree with you spkb.

I think we should ban anything about or said by any BiQueen or their b*****'s. They're too stupid to talk and need to just shut up.

I thought of this, and I do think this idea has some serious merit, but one I am considering, I think, might be worse. They should be forced to listen to that Vikings song, the one by prince, play 24x7 in their offices, on the field, basically everywhere they will be.

I was at that game, and to be honest and objective I didn't really study the replay of that penalty. At the time I remember thinking Favre was still in the play when he got nailed.

So here his the million dollar question for those frozen glorified rednecks: do you think our players actually risked a shot at going to the Super Bowl so that they could collect a $1500 bounty check? It's simply inconceivable

TheEnigma 03-24-2012 04:36 PM

I'm sorry, but if you are still whining about something from 3 years ago, you have something wrong with you.
