Correct me if I am wrong

Didn't the league send out a letter to all 32 teams saying if they were running a 'bounty' program, so stop it immediately?

After the scandal broke, several Giants players said that before the NFCC game against San Fran, they targeted a whiners players with a history of CONCUSSIONS.

-- After muffing one punt and fumbling a second in an overtime loss last weekend, San Francisco's Kyle Williams was subjected to an all-too-predictable barrage of Twitter hate and several death threats. Compared to that, what two members of the winning New York Giants recklessly boasted about after the game sounded almost tame.

Almost.

"The thing is, we knew he had four concussions, so that was our biggest thing, was to take him outta the game," said Jacquian Williams, who forced the second fumble, in overtime, to set up New York's game-winning field goal.

"He's had a lot of concussions," said Devin Thomas, who recovered both fumbles. "We were just like, `We gotta put a hit on that guy.'" Later in the same interview, he told the Newark Star-Ledger that teammate and backup safety Tyler Sash "did a great job hitting him early and he looked kind of dazed when he got up. I feel like that made a difference and he coughed it up."

That the Giants targeted a vulnerable opponent like Kyle Williams hardly qualifies as news, nor even that they zeroed in on his head. Those tactics, despite all the attention advancing science has focused on the dangers of concussions, were part of football long before helmets became mandatory. More troubling, but hardly news, either, is the implication that it was part of the Giants' game plan, something that was discussed in the film room or a special-teams meeting among the players, with or without input of the blessing of the coaching staff. It wouldn't be the first time that happened, either.

No, the surprising thing is that Thomas and Jacquian Williams came right out and said it.

The few Giants who were available at the team's practice facility Tuesday did their best to walk those statements back.

Kyle Williams Concussions: Giants Targeted 49ers Player Due To Previous Head Injuries

Looks like the Giants lied to Goodell as well; is Coughlin going to be suspended for a year?

What do you think?

I don't know how to post with sarcasm!

He sure did send out that letter... And that is yet another reminder of how this whole thing has been a witch hunt, my friend.

No matter what the media and smart ass fans around the league try to say about the Saints deserving this, their teams deserve no less. This is getting more and more aggravating.

It's hard to tell if the NFL is mad for us targeting opponents or paying for targeting opponents, because either way both are going against player safety.

Now THIS is different than the Packers situation..

I can see Goodell doing something here..

And what makes the Giants 'bounty' even worse is that they targeted a player with a history of concussions.

And preventing concussions is what the league SAID they wanted to prevent/lessen.

Yep, and as another poster mentioned earlier, he started on this player safety crap after retired players started filing lawsuits... badell only reacts when he's mad or facing legal action. There is no concerted effort to make the game safe.

And he STILL wants an 18 game season, even though the players said they didn't want it and wanted to drop 2 pre-season games.

Exactly! I have been sick of this guy ever since he started making our teams travel to London to play in front of a bunch of tea slurping aristocrats who could care less about our version of football. Then that 18 game malarkey just put my anger over the top. Now this bountygate crap, AND, he is seriously considering trying to start a franchise in London and Toronto.

What was wrong with the league anyway, Roger!?... Just the the NFL's own cover-ups that it's now sluffing off on the Saints. We are the scapegoat.
