Surprise Players

My pick is Aaron Brooks. I don\'t think I will personally be suprised by his play, but all you BROOKS BASHERS certainly will be. He has contiued to improve every year that he has been in the league and now if he can get more consistant play from his recievers he will be even better next year. He will also have Boo starting all year.

Who do you think will play better than expected next year?
I have to go with Germane Crowell .

Donte hamstring is a play away from being in the hot tub .
Horn is in the doghouse on a cell phone .
Crowell has the heigth to get to those Brooks grandstand passes .

Crowell steps into the number 3 position and is the number 2 receiver by week 8

Aaron Brooks...
If only.
I like Tebucky Jones here. Better tackling and a few picks is already more than most people expect from him.

You can also say Sam Gash. I have high expectations out of him, but I feel people are over-looking this guy...He will help coming out of the backfield, something we haven\'t seen from a fullback yet...Also, I don\'t think Duece will miss a a beat with this guy lead blocking for him

I am gonna go out on a limb and say James Allen. He has great physical skills and if he can just get it right in his head, he can be a force at LB. I dont know if he has it upstairs yet, or if he ever will, but Allen could be a very solid LB.

I think several may be surprises, but a surprise would be playing much better than expected, here\'s my take...
Cie Grant-A full year at 240. He\'ll step up, but that won\'t really be a surprise.
Boo- He looked like a probowler in the 2nd half. He wouldn\'t really be a surprise
Brooks-He\'d have to put up 80\'s Marino like numbers to surprise me.
Stallworth-He was supposed to last year, so he really wouldn\'t be a surprise.
Gash-I think he is gonna do more of the same. Crushing painfilled blocks, nut no surprise.
Tebuckey Jones-I thought he did a good job at the FS position, especially late. When his tackling improves, he\'ll be the A-player we expected. So not a surprise.

Real Surprises.
JAMES ALLEN- Word is he\'s much better suited mentally and physically for the SLB, but since they weren\'t gonna give up on Hodge in 2003, he was stuck at WLB. Things may have changed for 2004. Hodge\'s job is not secure anymore. Last year there was camp talk that Allen was pushing for Hodges spot. He may get a full year of TC learning the SLB.
I\'m certainly no coach or expert but I\'ve read the SLB requires less thinking and more agression than the WLB. I\'m not saying Allen is dumb, but his mentality may be a better fit at SLB. He\'s not as good in coverage as Hodge, but he\'s better versus the run.

Jonathan Sullivan-I was hesitant to list him because they\'ve moved him to the nose. His primary task now is to hold ground, redirect plays, collapse pockets and make all the players around him better. They will get the all the glory. He may have a fantastic game, and nobody would know it reading the box scores.

aaron brooks? c\'mon... the guy had the best season ever for a Saints QB. Granted, his inopportune fumbles and mental lapse put us in a bind, but he had a phenomenal year. if he can correct the few flaws of his game, this guy will not only make the Pro Bowl, he\'ll start as well. i\'m going with Tebucky Jones, because, well frankly, I highly doubt he can do worse than last year debaucle.
