Favre Rule II

Adam Schefter is reporting that the league has adopted the playoff overtime rule change for the regular season.

The Favre legacy lives on!!!!

So this means we have to deal the referees explaining the overtime rules during the regular season too smh.

They should call it "No Franchise Left Behind"

Oh plus now every turnover is under official review as well. Roger Goodell, is at the Control Point, with 16 screens to watch all the games. So he can also decide who gets the ball from now on.

Apologies guys, but Sudden Death is a stupid rule. I think we would have won that game even with the new rule personally, and I can't hate a much-needed rule change just because it was championed by people who hate us.

Truth be told, a lot of the non-troll Vikings fans I talk to are upset mainly about 2 things - 1) the massive amount of turnovers in the game by Favre and Peterson and 2) the pass interference call that moved the Saints down the field in overtime. They felt that the P.I. call was a bad call and was incidental contact. They wish that P.I. was reviewable.

But the league won't (and perhaps shouldn't) ever make P.I. reviewable because it would take a lot away from the officials who as a team should be able to make the right judgement calls. So, here we have it, the NFL's half-baked solution is this flimsy overtime rule change. Can't believe we're still talking about it but oh well :)

Someday I hope that the NFL will give up the ghost and use college's OT rule, which is 100 times better than any NFL overtime

This over and over again. If we are going to have overtime, make them play for it.

Yeah, I think the current rule moves them closer to it, but this is what they really need.

I look at it this way... if you really want to win the game then don't let it go to OT. Win it in regulation.

If you do go to OT then again... win it by the TD don't kick the FG.
