New Orleans Saints running back Pierre Thomas speaks about injury against 49ers

"I'm great. Ankle's all good. Body's feeling good. Head's feeling good," Thomas said. "A lot of people keep asking me about the injury form the San Francisco game. It was a freak accident. I put my head down, he put his head down, at the same time we collided. I was knocked out. There was nothing I could do about it. That's how the game goes. I didn't see the guy, and then at the last second, I put my head down, and he caught me with a good one. I'm moving forward looking toward next season.

Freak accident my ass! P.T. did put his head down, but the 40-whiner speared with his helmet purposely. Where was Goodell when that happened?!

Marlboro Man 03-30-2012 11:38 AM

Definitely a 'BOUNTY" hit by the 49er player and not called. That being said, Pierre has been knocked out of 2 of the last 3 playoff games and even the season before. He's got a history of injury that we may need to address before this season.

QBREES9 03-30-2012 01:50 PM

Man that was a tough one to watch. Glad to see your doing OK.

73Saint 03-30-2012 03:02 PM

That hit was metaphorical for the air being let out of our season.

saintsfan1976 03-30-2012 04:58 PM

We've been over this. Don't be a Viking fan, move on...

SaintFanQ 03-31-2012 04:17 AM

Glad to hear he is ok and looking forward to next season!

WOW! Some good news for a change! LOL!

GEAUX SAINTS!!!!! :-)

Pleased the guy is back.

We completely lost balance on offense once Pierre was knocked out of the game, we passed the ball 50+ times didnt we?

Hope ingram and pierre both get strong for the upcoming season, we will need them

63 times actually. All because Ivory was afraid after Pierre was knocked out. I've said it before, he was running with only 1 purpose in mind, and that was to get down on the turf as soon as possible.

Ivory... AFRAID? Good one. But not accurate.

Pierre slips that lick and we win BIG in Frisco.
The rhythm of the offense changed, not to mention a turnover in the red zone.
PT is a big part of what we do and how we do it.
I'm glad he'll be back and is looking forward to next season.
Now, if we can just get Ingram to break outside just one time, he might see the light.

The deepest backs in the NFL no doubt.

Tat is how I saw it. Helmet to head butt.
Perfectly legal there, but not all of the time. I remember we squashed that to death after that game.
Head butts should never be legal at no time.

Agreed it would have been a spear but also agree with not whinning. Wonder how many of those hits we would not get a flag on this comming year.

skymike 04-04-2012 06:49 AM

GEAUX Pierre. We love you man.

I would venture a guess that the turnovers had more to do with that than losing PT did.

SaintsBro 04-04-2012 11:57 AM

Yeah it was the turnovers, but losing Pierre Thomas, after that everybody on the team got spooked, you could see and feel it. Oh well, I'm over it. Glad he's okay.

exactly.
when we lose one guy, another steps up.
Unfortunately, PT's injury meant SP was afraid to have Sproles return kicks, and Roby's fumble killed us
