Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports the New York Jets like NFL draft prospect LB Jonathan Vilma (Miami, FL). According to NFL sources, the Jets would love to draft him with their No. 12 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft to continue the makeover of youth and speed of their linebacker corps.

If the Jets take Vilma, its likely that Robinson could fall to us.

At least their is one smart person out there. I see so many mocks with them taking a LB in round one, when it is very obvious that their weak point is at corner. They didn\'t go after Winfield just to go after a player. Plus, they already have 4 starting LB\'s...why do they need another? They got Cowart moved to the middle with Hobson (last years 2nd round pick) & Barton (from oakland) on the outside and they will use Abraham as a LB in their 3-4 sets. Sure, they need depth but you do not draft first round guys as depth.

Are you implying something?
I think Vilma is too good to pass up at 12. He is the next Ray Lewis.

But you are right, he is no Victor Hobson.

i feel that the jets will move down and take either vilma or robinson. if they move down, i\'m sure they won\'t move past 17, as they too know that we need CB and LB like they do.

Who and where the Jets pick will tell the tale as to who the Saints will draft. They are in the same boat as us (searching for young defensive help) and after they pick, we will have a pretty good idea as to who is gonna be available.
