'Miami Twice' a surefire hit

KIRKLAND -- Asked for his informed opinion on the best linebacker in this year's NFL draft, Winston Moss instead offered the devilish smile that served him so well during the days he played the position for the Seahawks and Raiders.

Finally, Moss said, "The Miami kid."

OK, wise guy, which Miami linebacker?

There's Jonathan Vilma, the smaller one who played middle linebacker for the Hurricanes. But there's also D.J. Williams, the larger one who played outside in Miami's big-play defense.

"Does it matter?" asked Moss, now the linebackers coach for the New Orleans Saints. "Just pick one of them. You can't go wrong."

\"One NFC scout said Vilma is the safer pick because he can contribute immediately, but the scout quickly added Williams might become the better player in the long run.\" - from the same article.

If this is true, then I\'d say pick Vilma. The exact same argument was made during the Manning/Leaf debate. (ie, Manning being the safer pick). We all know how that turned out.

i feel strongly that Vilma, while smaller, will be a bit more productive, at least initially, than Williams... Williams will be a great LB, but like i\'ve stated before, we need a leader that has credentials and a knowledge/instinct for the game. Vilma offers that right off the board.
