Wilson, Hawthorne, Lofton? that was my first thought when we signed Hawthorne today

I was thinking more like Wilson, Lofton, Chamerlain, but Hawthorne works quite well for me too. :D

I also like what I've read about Bussey. He's a sleeper candidate for WLB.

He's like Cassillas, if he's healthy, he's a starter.

If is a big word..........

Isn't Bussey the one who missed his whole senior year with a serious back injury?

I believe he was projected as a 2nd round pick before he was injured...

Nope, thats Romeus. Bussey was the dynamo LB alongside Martez at Illionois. Some thought he was the better college LB of the two. It remains to be seen if that translates at the next level tho.

I had them mixed up, I wonder what the status on Romeus is?

Minnesota Vikings Should Pursue Seahawks Free-Agent LB David Hawthorne

I found this on Bleacherreport...

Quote:

The Minnesota Vikings have not yet announced a decision on MLB E.J. Henderson, and should they choose to move on without him, they should make a serious attempt to sign Seattle Seahawks MLB David Hawthorne.

After the New Orleans Saints picked up free agent LB Curtis Lofton, 25, from Atlanta on Saturday, the Vikings' best option to solidify their linebacker corps was off the market. This leaves Hawthorne, 26, as the best viable option for the Vikings in free agency.

So basically we're GOBBLING UP defensive free-agents. LOL
Sorry NFL, all your linebackers ARE BELONG TO US!

No, it certainly doesn't, but my point was that maybe we should hold off a little bit with the Dome Patrol v2.0 talks.

But like I said, the LB corps this coming season will, in all probability, be a lot better than what it was this past couple of seasons.

The same LB corps from last year would probably be better under Spags rather than Williams...

I'm also quietly expectant of Hunter, who seems to have a lot of raw talent based on what I've read about his college playing days.

He's my sleeper pick for the next couple of seasons 'cos he won't probably get many chances to break through the depth charts this coming season, but if he can make a ST contribution and the chips fall just right... who knows?

I really like the depth, talent, and the youth coupled with veteran leadership that the Saints' LB corps seems to have right now. They may not have any superstars, but a very solid group who hopefully will play well as an unit under Spags.

I suppose the Vikings will think this is a personal foul, late signing on the Saints ;P

I love stealing their dreams and thumping their team, every year.
