Played for Notre Dame in college, was picked in the 6th round of the 2010 draft by the Broncos, but they waived him in 2011 and after that he spent a short stint with the Redskins before signing with the Saints this past January.

He is listed at 6-3 and 305, and he did make a start at all three interior O-lineman positions in college, so he is an ideal depth guy for the O-line.

Eric Olsen | Center
Team: New Orleans Saints
Ht / Wt: 6'3' / 305

College: Notre Dame

I guess he is versatile, but still probably won't make it unless he beats out Tennant or someone goes down

Yeah Joe Morgan had some real flashes of brilliance last preseason, until he got injured, and he had that thing -- instinct or intangibles or whatever you want to call it -- where he just looked like a football player out there. Could be a big upside on him. I don't know how badly he was hurt, but I felt at the time it was one of those, "promising young guy gets a hangnail, let's put him on IR and store him away for another year" type of injuries. I think he is definitely somebody to watch, maybe even more so than Arrington in some ways.

Morgan ran a 4.40 40-yrd dash at the combine with a 4.32 low, and he ran a 4.38 40-yrd dash at his pro-day, so he definitely has some wheels and he could fill in very nicely for Meachem (4.39) when it comes to the speed aspect.

Of course, this was all before his injury last preseason, so I don't know how that might have affected his speed on the field.

At the very least he should be a ST contributor, which is where he made the biggest impact during last off-season camps according to the T-P reports at that time - if my memory serves me right.
