First off....it is not a matter of Brooks bashing without cause. It is deserved. He is not the sole reason for our poor performance. I still feel Haz has put too much faith in a guy with few leadership abilities and poor decision making skills. That says nothing of the fact about the guys athletic ability, he has that. Running game sets up the pass. There is no way a team can win without an effective running game. However a team can win with a marginal QB. The QB needs to be in control of the team while they are on the field. It should cut through everyone like a knife when we watched Brooks on the sideline during the Colts debacle and he was laughing. I saw nothing funny. All of the mistakes we all saw last year don\'t need to be rehashed. The team made plenty. The coaching staff made plenty. The sad part is we continue making them. We go from point scoring gurus to not being able to buy a point in one year. What changed? We dismantled our line, got rid of cancer? I am hoping that the Defensive needs are met first, but we showed we have offensive issues as well. Brooks could not read a defense if it was drawn in X\'s and O\'s.......I just think that maturity, intellect will keep him from succeeding.

Don't want em to get your goat don't show em where it's hid.

Sure, Brooks deserves some criticism. But, as saintfan points out, let\'s share the wealth. I said earlier that Saints fans are typical. They give too much credit, or in this case, too much blame.

He is not the sole reason for our poor performance. I still feel Haz has put too much faith in a guy with few leadership abilities and poor decision making skills.
Maybe I\'m reading more in to what you\'re saying here. But the only conclusion I can come to is you blame Brooks entirely through the decision that Haslett made to make Brooks the starting QB. Maybe, you can clarify. Does anyone else read it that way?

Running game sets up the pass. There is no way a team can win without an effective running game. However a team can win with a marginal QB.
Tampa and the Pats both won a superbowl with sub-par running games. If you believe a team can win with a marginal QB, then what would you consider Brooks? At the very least, I think Brooks has to be considered marginal. So, if that is your belief, then we should be winning.

The point I\'ve been trying to make without much success is that there are 10-other guys on the offense that when they aren\'t playing as a complete team cause the passing game to struggle and the typical response from a lot of fans it that it\'s the QB\'s fault.

Now, with that said, SURE, Brooks has made his fair share of mistakes, as most QB\'s do. But, let\'s not overlook the BIG picture and let\'s realize that sometimes a mistake appears to be on the QB, when there is so much we really don\'t see or know.

What I\'m more interested in is why you think our receivers run to a spot and stop. This is a MAJOR story if it\'s true. I\'ll bet ya that if we can prove it that we can get can ESPN to run with this story. I can\'t believe NO ONE else has broke this story. Who knew. I\'ve gotta pay more attention to the games and stop looking at the cheerleaders.
So when does Berman run the big story SaintsReporter ???

Berman, said he found it very interesting that Brooks could only throw to a receiver that come to a complete stop. He asked for my souce. I told him it was saintz08, and he said to get a more credible source... :P

Aaaahhh - feels like old times. You are correct SR, Tampa and the Pats both won without a true running game. However, both run variations of the west coast, do they not? Here\'s the difference. They have smart quarterbacks who are very efficient. Both of those teams put a lot of players in the middle of the field and generally speaking get the ball out quickly. That\'s only my opinion from watching lots of games, but it differs greatly compared to Aaron \"backpeddling happy feet\" Brooks.

Now SR, to say that AB would be as productive, and more importantly that the team would be as productive, without Deuce is just plain insanity. Sounds kind of like this one guy I once knew who said that penalties and missed blocks hurt a team as much as turnovers. LOL.

Oh my, I\'m changing my prediction for this season - the Saints are going to win the Super Bowl. You know if Saintfan and I agree that hell must have just frozen over and the Saints will win it all!

Didn\'t say AB would be just as productive. Although, it\'s entirely possible that not having Deuce would mean we would pass more, which could boost Brooks\' stats. As far as the team, I highly doubt they would be better off without Deuce...

Who said penalties were worse than turnovers?? Geeeez.. Must have been a dumbass to say that>>>>
