Thumbs up Tulsa defensive end Tyrunn Walker works out for New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints have once again taken a look at a local Louisiana prospect just like with New Orleans native offensive lineman Darrion Weems. This time they are taking at look at Tulsa defensive end Tyrunn Walker.

Walker is originally from New Iberia, La. and played high school football there at Westgate High where he was a part of leading his team to a Class 5A state championship.

As a senior this past season, Walker had 14 tackles for a loss, three forced fumbles, two blocked kicks, and eight sacks. In his entire college career he has totaled 14 sacks.

At the recent Tulsa Pro Day Walker, at 6’3 and 273 lbs., ran the 40 yard dash in 4.88, 4.81 in 20 yard shuttle, 7.37 in the 3-cone drill, 9’4″ broad jump, a 28″ vertical leap, and bench pressed 225 lbs. 20 times.

Right now Walker isn’t ranked on any draft sites and will likely be an undrafted free agent. If so, he could be someone that the Saints could possibly be interested in.

Walker would likely answer the call too and not only just for the chance to play in the NFL. On the Tulsa website, he listed his favorite team as the Saints and their Super Bowl win as his most thrilling sports moment. They’ve gotta love that.

Numbers one thing, production another.

I will say this - I am completely loving watching Spagnolo construct this new defensive Saints team.

No doubt! We potentially could have the best LB group in the league next year...

And to be clear, I'm referring to the NFL. Because his senior season stats are freakish - even for CUSA

Sounds like an interesting prospect. Might be a development player like Galette.

Undrafted players tend to make more of an impact on our team, he could be a gem if he has the right attitude

It can't hurt to kick the tires. Just make sure all the lug nuts are there.

With camps on the horizon, they need to add more bodies to the roster.
