I'm concerned because his leadership will not be there. I know it doesn't work this way, but if you're certain you will have a long term deal then you should be there regardless!

Well, I'm concerned. I remember another player who didn't show up for the team practices during the lockout last year. We all see how that turned out. Brees needs to be there. Starting today he is now the leader of offense for the 2012-2013 New Orleans Saints, whether he likes it or not.

It's weight lifting. You don't need a leader to pick up weights.

Aaron Rodgers missed workouts last year.

Plus he's in New York on Union Business

This kinda reminds me of how Farve did in Minni. Brees needs to be there for his timing, leadership, and to set an example for the team and the city and to show he's in it for the long run.
