The NFL has no right now further fine a player, or punish them again - due to finding out about a system. Unless they can approve exchange of cash for injury, which I doubt they can do.

I'm glad you all liked it.

Straight logic.

GET U SOME GOO-DUCK

This is why I believe Goodell is liable for allowing it to continue for 3 years.
He has incriminated himself by letting it go on for so long. Goodell is guilty!

I've been saying this the moment the NFL told ESPN to start reporting on it.

Great article! Nice fine but I wonder why you haven't seen this article mentioned by PFT or CBS or any other NFL publication? Hmph

Because they're biased. If they didn't write it, they won't promote it. They tend to go with the flow of everyone else.

Notice how when something is considered a bad move, all networks seem to have the same viewpoint?

They don't want to turn it around on Goodell or their precious ratings would fall.

The word vindictive stuck in my head.

The article is spot on,but a the end is a bit biased imo . Like it says the NFL has to prove the money that was handed out was for an actual hit . As it turns out, they dont. The simple fact that you agreed to the program makes you liable.
Like lets say Vilma was on the list and did not put a big hit that injured another player. He is to blame for agreeing to get paid to hurt ppl.Simple as that.
So the dumbest thing they did was to put everything on paper, and the NFL has written proof now .

If the NFL were concerned with player safety.... They would have made a public statement to all 32 teams in 2009 that there would be zero tolerance for bounties and there would be severe repercussions to be had.

They didnt, they 'whispered privately' to one team... I would be willing to bet it was not a strong whisper either.
