Brees can break Unitas' record week 5, right?

Against the San Diego Chargers? or am I wrong?

WhoDat!656 04-21-2012 07:24 PM

I believe you are correct sir!!

Ashley 04-21-2012 08:01 PM

Not to be a dick, but I really could care less about it.

Why not? It is a significant record!

BGWhoDat 04-21-2012 10:58 PM

That's interesting because, it's against San Diego.

dueceloose 04-21-2012 11:53 PM

wow breaking one of the longest records against his former team.. epic.

alleycat_126 04-21-2012 11:57 PM

Cart before horse, gents lets not forget they'll be five teams hell bent on bounty revenge. One for sure in GB!!!! It would be really nice though!!!!!

I'm not saying it can't happen, but Drew can almost get 1 TD pass a game with his eyes closed...

jnormand 04-22-2012 07:15 AM

What is the record?

Yes it is a accomplishment to be proud of, for himself and our team. Under normal circumstances, but with all that has happened as of late. I really could care less, I just want the team to do well. Not to be focused on any individual records.

Now I might have a change of heart when it comes down to that last game of the record. But as for right now, I'm not even thinking about a record

... throwing a touchdown pass in 47 consecutive games ... I didn't realize Drew had a 42 game touchdown streak ... breaking Unitas' record against the Chargers would also be interesting in that not only was San Diego Drew's previous team, it is also the last team Johnny Unitas played for, though you always remember him as a Baltimore Colt ... there's some good karma there ... if Brees breaks this record, I may have to break down and purchase a Drew Brees Fathead,.
... man, that's one record I never thought would even come close to being broken ... http://smileys.on-my-web.com/reposit...espect-053.gif.

Maybe that was godell's target all along. My brother's a die hard Unitas fan and is sure rooting against it. What if the dictator's feeling the same way?

Brees is at 43. That's why it'll be broken against the Chargers. Unless I miss-counted and he's at 42, then he'll only tie it there.

dizzle88 04-22-2012 12:21 PM

The consecutive games with TD pass streak started in week 6 of the 2009 season against the giants so just count upwards

Fixed it to tie in the post. Thanks.

That is ironic isn't it. :p

I still like San Diego, but this is one I'll enjoy watching. Not nearly as sweet as Brees breaking Marino's record against the lowly Atlanta Falcons, but still pretty sweet.

Sorry, but I really doubt if they give the supposed bounty much thought. They know better than we do how overblown this whole thing was.

... break the record, tie the record ... either way, that's a lot of consecutive games to be throwing a TD pass in!

Well, since this record would benefit the team.... Any record that concerns TD's is one that is important.

Cant win with out them.

SaintsBro 04-23-2012 10:18 AM

Well the thing I kinda worry about is that any time the Saints get in the red zone next year, defenses may start thinking, pass pass pass, the Saints are going to pass. Which could make it harder to get in. Obviously it's more complex than that, but I think he will have better luck with long bombs and relying on yards after catch. In the red zone people will definitely be defending against the pass, knowing that it's coming at some point. Especially Jimmy Graham, although I'm not sure he CAN be defended against.

Supertek 04-23-2012 11:56 AM

We have really good backs so teams really can't overplay the pass or they will get burnt. Also a lot of the red zone passes that are throw by Brees are almost undefendable.
