Forgive a stupid question (draft)

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; ....but is there anything preventing the Saints from trading up into the first round if they really wanted? I know this year's 2nd is gone, and next year's first is gone, but I don't recall anything that would forbid them ...

I realize this is never going to happen and would probably take something like Graham + every pick they have until 2014, but it would be hilarious and would probably piss off the commissioner something fierce.

We still have our 1st next year, we lost our 2nd.

I don't think its worth trading up into the 1st. Most experts think there are about 5 or 6 elite players, then about 2 or 3 rounds of talent with nearly the same grades.

This draft is exremely deep with late 1st/2nd round talent.

I wouldn't mind trading up into the 2nd round if there's one guy we really like a lot.

Yes we could trade up to 1st round... nothing stopping us but I think its really stupid to do it with all the crap going on right now.

Sit tight and BPA.

Trading up might be something to do if we were in need of a sure-enough playmaker. All we're in need of is depth; keep the picks we have and take the best player available

If there is a DT on the board and we could make the jump to a second round hot pick. Then I'm for it.
