03/15/2012 - The Virginia football program held its annual Pro Timing Day for all draft-eligible players on Thursday. All 32 NFL franchises and one Canadian League franchise were represented during the 3-hour workout session. There were 17 former Cavaliers taking part in the event at the UVa practice facility. Overview


Cam Johnson was a star receiver and defensive back in high school, and was highly ranked as a safety and outside linebacker prospect. Johnson was also a double digit scorer in basketball. Johnson was a force at defensive end for the Cavaliers during the past two seasons after initially playing linebacker his first two years, including getting some action as a true freshman in 2008. Johnson consistently generated a pass rush, and gave a robust and quality effort against the run. Johnson had 40 tackles, including five tackles for loss, two sacks and one pass defensed in 2009, 53-14-6-4 in 2010, and 30-11-4-1 in 2011. Analysis

Strengths: Tremendous explosion, accelerates low with power. Relentless blindside pursuit, tracks down ball carriers on the other side of the field. Fast in a straight line. Excellent wide and bull rushes when quick off the snap. Strong tackler. Has good power in hands and can anchor, shed, and chase. Weaknesses: Is slightly high cut and somewhat stiff in the hips, likely too stiff for 3-4 OLB consideration. Doesn't change directions well. Can be late off the snap. OVERVIEW
Tiller has NFL size for the guard position. He is a below-average athlete, which hurts his ability to contribute early at the next level. A strong, positional blocker who really excels in the run game, Tiller can overpower his defender with ease. His footwork is his Achilles heel and the reason he could be relegated to the practice squad during his first few years.
ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS Tiller makes his mark as a run blocker. Although not very explosive, he is generally able to move defensive linemen out of the play if he can get his hands on them. Size and strength are the shining attributes of his game.
WEAKNESSES Tiller is a interior lineman who lacks explosion and struggles in pass protection. It seems he hasn't honed in on a stance and pass-set that he feels comfortable with, as he gets too high at times and can be caught off-balance by powerful pass rushers. He struggles in space to work upfield and get his hands on linebackers, and really would excel more in a zone blocking scheme.
