Exclamation Is Ingram Turning Into Another Fragile Bust?

Mark Ingram underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Thursday and will be sidelined for the next six weeks.
It's Ingram's third known surgery since August of 2010 and second on the knee, which was also "scoped" just prior to his final college season. The recovery timeline given suggests this is another routine scope, although it's a growing concern for a player multiple teams reportedly removed from their boards leading up to the 2011 draft due to knee worries. Ingram's other surgery was an operation to repair a turf-toe injury in January. Ingram will enter the 2012 season with medical red flags in addition to preexisting workload concerns.

Hell, I've even had them. Scopes are very minor and can consist of anything from cleaning out loose objects and bone spurs to trimming up frayed or torn miniscus. Recovery from all of these are 100%. While they are technically surgery, they are a far cry from anything serious.

They say 6 weeks, but thats just from now on,so he should be ready by the season start . Its an estimated recovery time, alot can go wrong, especially if its the second surgery for the same thing.

In that case, maybe Ingram should get a hyperbaric chamber of his own to cut down on the recovery time, just like Colston does.

Seems like this was just a scheduled maintenance scope, so I'm not overly worried about it, but if he doesn't have a healthy season this year, I might start to seriously worry about his longevity in the league.

I am assuming by the title of your post you are referring to Reggie Bush.

Reggie had his share of injuries while he was here, but he was, in no way, shape or form a bust!

A lot of the times he pissed me off to the heights of pisstivity when he would run, but I would rather him in be in a Saints uniform that another team's; this of course was before Darren Sproles came to the Saints!

I'm not assuming anything - honestly, I hadn't even thought of Reggie till your post...

Gotta say it's a headscratcher on how the title suggested Reggie Bush...

Was simply looking at Ingram on his own merits and little body of work so far...

I don't believe Ingram is a bust at this moment; but, I'm starting to get concerned...

Now, he did some tough running in short yardage despite the conversion failure in Green Bay...

But considering we traded to get him - I expected more than just two yards and a cloud of dust - even if he led the league at one point in conversions for first down...

I know some will say 'It's not like we'd had the pick anyway in light of what happened with the Gregg Williams' Debacle'...

But I'm hoping for more from a first round pick with extra investment when there were other options available with the pick...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

I was going off of the 'another' reference in your post.

If Ingram never played another down of professional football, then you could rightfully say that he is a bust.

But with PT, Tusk and Sproles, he gives the Saints a potentially un-beatable combination of RBs.
