“Let me make one thing clear: I in no way condone somebody putting money up to intentionally hurt someone,” Briggs said. “But bounty or not, what did the Saints do on the field that’s illegal? All I’ve seen on TV is clean, physical football. You can get those same highlights from any NFL team. . . . It’s becoming flag football. We’re flying around at 100 mph.”

... those guys from Chicago will surprise you once in a while ... not the sharpest tools in the shed, but they do know the difference between smashmouth-football and bogus bounty-hunting allegations.

This whole thing has been personal from the start between Goodell and the Saints. Goodell was pissed also that the NFL was not able to get exclusive domain on the WHO DAT theme/logo which probably caused them to loose millions.

As stated previously, the ban has nothing to do with the play on the field. The ban is for off-field activities that the commissioner told us to stop and we ignored the warning, then tried to cover it up.
Suspensions were warranted, but the durations were excessive. |

That is also why player suspensions are unwarranted |
