well after 23 years of being a saints fan and having a closet of saints jerseys that prove my devotion to the saints(23, and my wife nags me every year for closet space) and the countless things i do to bring the siants luck on sunday and how every year i watch them every sunday (mostly by myself with a host of oposign team fans sitting behind me, or my firends who tease me because the saints SUCK) i feel that the saints have no want to improve their team ... it sadens me that the saints are in need of 2 positions to better their team and they chose the one postion they are ok at .....good god man they got 2 i say 2 2nd round picks trade up and get something that they could use that would get them to playoffs...just seen they drafted a WR ...WFT!!!..i sit through free agency and NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING i see every other team doing things to get better ..i see a coaching staff that is horrible and a team that isn't motivated to do anything....and the management/coaches dont care and do stuff the same way every year
HOLY SMOKE DOOOOOOO SOMETHING YOU STUPID (^(@(*@#(@%$^ all you gotta do is do something you got fans that stick by you DO SOMETHING TO GIVE US A TEAM WE CAN BE PROUND OF...im soo tired of being the a$$ sitting in a sports bar rooting for losers who know they are losers and dont give a crap and wont do anything to improve
i read these boards 3-4 times a week and love seeing you guys debate and stuff adn love how you guys get the info first even before the gay A$$ neworleanssaints.com site does...i love the saints but i hate to say it they going no where and i dont think they want to ....i read about how bad we need a CB or a LB
WTF we draft a DE and a WR for on first day THOSE ARE NOT PRESSING NEEDS
I could write for an hour abotu this but in conclusion
i have lived in va for the last 9 years (redskins country) (originally from lafayette) and i see how the redskins ARE DANG GONE TRYING to win a championship soooooo instead of if im going to invest my fan dollars for merchandise and tickets on a team that wants to win hell if they dont win its the redskins atlaest they are trying to provide a quality team to their fans instead of dorking their fans over
and i KNOW EVRYONE ONE OF YOU WISHES THE SAINTS WERE AS AGGRESSIVE AS THE SKINS now everyone of thier moves may not be the best BUT AT LEAST THEY ARE DOING SOMETHING...and look at the eagles THEY WANT TO WIN THEY WANT TO WIN and you knwo what!!! they are going to win
this offseason really set the tone for my decision...
not trying to get one of the MANY CB in FA
and crapping all over the draft
GOOOOO REDSKINS make me proud make me know as a fan I FRIGGING MATTER go EAGLES go NLF play the games that meke a few months of the year so nice to look forward to and so much fun to wait to watch the games and LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING ESPN PRIMETIME..gooo saints fans who are the MOST LOYAL FANS ever who get crapped on more then any other sports team
GOO BUDDY RYAN make them hire you so you can beat the coaches staff a$$ on the sideline and knock some sence in them
ill be back to read whats up with you guys but as i depart
i GIVE A 1 FINGER SALUTE TO THE SAINTS MANAGEMENT AND COACHES AND ALL WHO RUN THIS TEAM
Well now, that was eloquent.
Position: Inside/Outside Linebacker
College: Notre Dame
Player with outstanding character, both on and off the field … Heavily involved in his community, Watson became only the second Notre Dame player (Grant Irons) to earn AFC Good Works Team accolades … A three-year starter at inside linebacker, his quickness and range could see him shift to weakside outside linebacker at the pro level … A finalist in 2002 and a semi-finalist in 2003 for the Butkus Award, Watson was called, \"everything you would want in a leader,\" by head coach Tyrone Willingham … Seriously considered entering the 2003 NFL Draft, but opted to return to the school for his final season, hoping to be involved in the team\'s rebuilding under Willingham … Started his final 32 games, seeing action in 43 contests … Finished with 294 tackles (163 solos), 8½ sacks for minus-62 yards, 39 stops for losses of 151 yards, a fumble recovery, a forced fumble, eight pass deflections and seven interceptions for 202 yards in returns, including two touchdowns … Only Allen Rossum (3, 1994-97), Bobby Leopold (3, 1976-79) and Tom Schoen (3, 1965-67) had more interception returns for touchdowns in school history … His 202 return yards are the most by an Irish defender since Steve Lawrence totaled 233 yards (1983-86) … Only Nick Rassas (31.4 avg., 1963-65) had a higher interception return average in Irish annals.
Positives: Has a short, thick frame with a well-developed chest, broad shoulders, good arm muscle definition, good bubble, thick thighs and defined calves … Very productive defender with above-average toughness … Shows instinctive read and react skills, as he sees blocking schemes and moves quickly to the ball … Will step up and take on the offensive guard or lead back with force to stack the inside run … Uses his hands well to play off blocks … Quick in pursuit, showing the playing speed to recover when beaten … Has above-average ease-of-movement agility in his lateral pursuit … Hard hitter who is better as a drag-down tackler than one who wraps … Can lock on and stay on the hips of tight ends and backs operating in the short-area passing game … Adequate in his pass drops working in the zone (when dropping inside and in the short area) … Has natural hands going for the interception and a sudden burst to gain long yardage on the return … Adequate blitzer who easily moves through trash and traffic to get outside.
Negatives: Quick to diagnose plays, but needs to stay in control, as he tends to over-run plays, especially when coming on the back side pursuit … Strong to stack and shed, but would be better if he uses his natural leverage … Produces a lot of arm and drag-down tackles and needs to do a better job of staying low in his pads to stalk, wrap and secure … May not have the pass-drop agility to be effective outside in a Cover-2 defense, as he appears a little stiff in the hips and is tight in his turn working the zone … Better blitzer off the edge than coming inside, but lacks an array of moves when his initial charge is defeated (depends on quickness and speed rather than pass rush moves).
