Is it really Goodell?
I've been thinking about it, and honestly, I don't think Goodell is anything but a patsy.
Exactly what reason would the owners have for electing such an under-qualifies simpleton to run the league, unless it was because he is easy to control?
I mean, look at all of the financial incentives: Out-of-town teams in the superbowl, the injury lawsuits, etc. Those are all issues that effect the owners' pocket books, not Goodell's. Wouldn't it make sense that the other league owners are ganging up on the Saints to prevent a hometown superbowl and satisfy the courts in these injury trials?
I am pretty sure there is a cabal of 32 guys who are directing all of this madness, and Goodell is just getting his face stamped on it. Kind of like how the national conventions and the cabinet have treated the President for the last 16 years.
