I think he's been reading this and thinks he's riding to save us all by what he has done to the Saints.

CTE, the concussion crisis, and an economic look at the end of football - Grantland

I don't get it personally. Everyone from pee-wee on up knows there's risk from the moment you strap on the helmet.

But then again, the trip-and-fall lawyers have been running rampant in many areas of society for many years...

In reality it does not bother him a bit. Why would Roger care about football? He never played past High School, and was not hired to love the game or protect its integrity.

I know its a difficult for some to draw this conclusion on their own but his soul mission in life is to make the NFL profitable. He is not tasked with preserving the state of the game or keeping fans happy, his only concern for safety is the probability of pending concussion law suits that will take a chunk of the profitability away from the NFL.

A Commissioner (CEO) of a multi-billion dollar corporation is ultimately tasked with increasing profit. It ALL numbers to him.

This explains why his approach to safety is minimalist and reactive, he does not want to spend money he does not have to. Is the NFL doing anything about the thousands of ankle and knee injuries a season? Nope... knee pads are not required, neither are high top cleats. The NFL doesnt give a sh1t because there has not been a lawsuit yet.

Yeah I don't agree either.

I think there is a right way to play football and there is a wrong way. When you play at the earliest of levels they teach you proper tackling techniques at least the good coaches. When you get to the NFL its hurt someone, to much leading with the helmet, to much hits that are delivered to end someones season or career.

Heck look at our D the one thing a lot of us complained about is we didn't know how to tackle. Wrap up and bring them down already.

Roger Goodell is an A@* It all stems from GREED. Why not take care of players that have made millions and billions of dollars for you. They need long term health care for sure. No need to destroy your finances because you are not able to pay for the outrageous cost of health care in this contry. I think the people who play this game are entitled to that. Sure players realize a risk is involved but this is a unique game and unique provisions should be made to help these people. This would not bankrupt the NFL and would keep the lawsuits in check. In fact cost of health care for us as Americans is the number one cause of bankruptcy. And our cost are three to four times higher than any country in the world. Think we dont have a problem?

Exactly, and then there is the glorious highlight reel. Every D player want to be on the highlight reel for the sports entertainment channels.
