Exactly, and served with a side dish of occasional flash.

Adequate rotational DT.

blackangold 05-07-2012 02:33 PM

Was a better run stopper than Rogers and Franklin. Always wondered why we let him walk. 2010 Saints D was ranked 4th in the NFL for total yards and Remi was a big part of clogging up the middle.

Good signing by the Saints.
running downs could look like this:
RDE McBride
DT Bunkley
NT Ayodele
LDE Jordan

passing downs:
RDE McBride
DT Ellis
NT Hicks
LDE Gallete

FinSaint 05-07-2012 02:43 PM

I'm starting to like the talent and depth of rotation they now have at DT.

Welcome back Mr. Mohawk! :bng:

TheEnigma 05-07-2012 02:56 PM

Not this guy again

NuNu318 05-07-2012 03:12 PM

I actually liked Ayodele and was suprised we didn't keep him before...we did pretty good against the run the last year he was with the Saints

hitta 05-07-2012 03:19 PM

I'm not really sure why some Saints fans are so negative on this signing, I thought he was a pretty good player for us.

saintfan 05-07-2012 03:40 PM

Good deal!

alleycat_126 05-07-2012 03:50 PM

We need his depth, Will help Bunkley break to and cause havoc in the backfield.

Crusader 05-07-2012 04:16 PM

Not a huge fan of the guy but still think this is a good depth move.

Rugby Saint II 05-07-2012 04:17 PM

Another good move by the FO. He will do a good job in the rotation and is another chess piece for Spags. Like Danno said earlier he does show flashes every once in a while and he's cheap. This new look defense may suit him very well.

alexonfyre 05-07-2012 04:24 PM

Yeah, I have always liked Remi, he is a hard worker and, as others have said, he comes cheap. Then again, you have to be Scott Shanle bad for me not to like you.

SaintFanQ 05-07-2012 04:25 PM

I'm glad he's on the team! A good move by the Saints! :-)

jnormand 05-07-2012 04:42 PM

Looks like we are getting the Bounty Band back together! Lmao! Now let's go get Sharper! I'm really starting to embrace the hate. Ha!

darstep 05-07-2012 04:47 PM

I liked him then and I like him now.
The effort was always there even if the results weren't.
Very good move to get him back.
Welcome home.

I like it!

New Orleans Saints sign DT Ayodele, who injured Favre's ankle - NFL.com

pumpkindriver 05-07-2012 06:01 PM

I'm glad hes back, maybe not a great player but a good one.

Danno 05-07-2012 06:10 PM

If anyone thinks that hit was illegal or even planned, they are a clueless moron or a Viking fan...pardon the redundancy.

biloxi-indian 05-07-2012 06:14 PM

If Ayodele produces twice the stats of Franklin and Rogers combined last season at one fourth the cost...job well done Loomis! Until then the jury is still out! :)

QBREES9 05-07-2012 07:49 PM

Welcome back Remi

Saintswrath 05-08-2012 03:28 AM

This is a Very Good depth Signing.. Nothing negative to say, he was let go for whatever mysterious reason, probably wanted more money..

And to add more fuel to the fire, this is the guy that took out Favre and put him into permanent retirement, this is a DIRECT Slap in the faces to the league offices..
Saints are now trying to be the Underworld thugs of the league lmao i love it.

I might be both, but definitely at least one of them... ;-)

If you mean the high-low hit, then yes, it was illegal in the way that it is against the pancy-a$$ rules the league has put in to safeguard their precious QBs.

But, no, it wasn't planned - just something that occasionally happens in the heat of the game when pass rushers are trying to reach the QB and sometimes they get there at the same time with another guy while the ball has been released a second before. Just something that's part of the game, but in any case, the league has chosen to deem it to be against the rules , and you see that play being called and getting a flag more times than not.

I'm certain that the Saints waited to add him to the team until the suspensions were levied. I'm glad he was still available.

Thats what I was thinking as well. If they'd signed him before the draft Goodell would penciled him in on the list for players susepended.

AlaskaSaints 05-08-2012 12:10 PM

Booming voice of the NFL - "Would all recent, prior Saints defenders please report back to the New Orleans Saints to serve your BountyGate suspension."

I liked Remy. Had no idea why he would leave, but happy that he is back.

IIRC, Remi (who injured Favres ankle) was offered a pretty decent raise to sign with the Vikes wasn't he?

Well, he was the DT who "injured Favre's ankle."

By the way, did y'all see the bounty that Cole Hamels placed on Bryce Harper?
The horror!

Ashley 05-08-2012 02:46 PM

Good to have you back Remi, I thought he did play well for us before
