Why did we just trade our 3rd round pick to the Skins?

all they had was a 5th and 6th rounder? Why did we just trade a 3rd rounder for that crap? Also why did we not take a corner at all in the first 3 rounds? Why did we draft a DE in the 1st when we just franchised Howard and have Grant? I guess the Saints feel they have no real needs since not one of the players they drafted today will have an impact next season. We could have drastically improved today but inside this draft seems like a waste.

I hope that 3rd was for one of corners preferable Smoot. Do anyone know what recieve in that trade?

We got a 5th rounder and a 2nd in the 2005... at first I didn\'t like this move at all... but in the long run stocking up on 1 and 2 rounders is good stradegy... I mean 3-4-5 odds of them making the team are far less than 1-2.

If someone told me the saints will not draft a corner on day one, I will think they was crazy

the Redskins forum said....Saints get: Washington\'s fifth-round pick (No. 139) and the Redskins\' second-round pick in 2005.

Yeh - that\'s what happened to our 3rd round pick. And I agree that 1st and 2nd rounders are more likely to succesful than \"special teams for 2 years maybe\" lower rounders.

Certain positions are really hard to fill with rookies who will deliver quickly enough; and corner is one of the them. So although there is much consternation on the pick of no* corners, but I feel that just maybe we should not go for rookies at this position but instead invest on tried and tested ans successful NFL corners. ----------- Not that we have seen an awful amount of that!

* I mean \"no\" as in opposite of yes. I do not mean \"New Orleans\" lol (whoops - this did not work did it. But the draft has left me a little wasted. No NO coverage by ESPN; not many draft picks by NO) :yltype:

...at first I was ticked off but I see the trend in their stradegy and makes good sense... at least there is a plan.
