Louisiana State Police investigators have not yet reached a conclusion about whether the allegation New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis rewired his Superdome box warrant a criminal probe, according to the agency.

Last month, after ESPN reported Loomis reconfigured a headset in his box in order to listen to opposing coaches before Hurricane Katrina, the FBI and the State Police launched a joint investigation to determine if any state or federal wiretapping laws were broken. In addition, the statute of limitations on wiretapping laws generally run between five or six years, which means even if the report were true no prosecution would be feasible, although some lawyers said that conspiracy elements to a crime can extend the statute of limitations. The NFL said it would not be involved in the matter while it is under investigation by federal and state law enforcement officials.

They knew is was BS and they knew the statue of limitations was up and they really don't want to waste millions of dollars of their budget on a useless investigation based on pure speculation and rumor.

You're absolutely right. I didn't really think it all the way through earlier... I was just thinking about the part of the Saints being incriminated. If justice is going to be served then absolutely carry it out.

If the LSP does not investigate then the public opinion will be "good old boy Louisiana cover up".

If they do they waste tax payer money on an investigation that is a waste or time.

No crimnal charges can fe filed. The espn douche did not file a report, he just did a espn report with speculation. Civil is a different matter. Sue espn and change the name to ESPN-New Orleans.
