Sean Payton would say that this OTA time would usually be used to install the offense. In an offense that Drew has been in for 6 years that is 90% complete already. Every running back we currently have is already aware of the blocking responsiblities for Brees. Not saying that having Drew in camp right now wouldn't be a blessing, but how many Saints actually really need him at these OTA's. For me personally, on offense it's just one person....... Nick Toon.

Other than timing with Toon, I don't see where he need Brees for anything.

He can learn all the assignments, plays, routes, etc without Drew.

From what I heard about yesterday, Chase did very well. Strief said his tempo was that of what Drew would run

^^^The TEMPO....that is all important and why I think Chase Daniel is infact Drew's heir apparent. Our offensive dominance has a lot to do with TEMPO. Defenses can NOT keep up with how fast the O brings in sub packages or when we run no huddle, which leaves defenses flustered with what to do because you never see the same guys on the field outside of the line & Drew. It keeps defenses on their heels bcause they have to make that decision to sub to match up or roll with what they got when either way they are most likely gonna get burned anyway. Drew's accuracy and God like ability to read defenses is all him but the TEMPO which does nothing but maximizes his ability is all in the system. Which is why I think Daniel can succeed here in the future because as long as he keeps that tempo he will be alright, All he really has to do is work on his accuracy.

If we have Brees here for five more years where will Daniel be then that's a long time in NFL terms so I dont see it happening

True. It could be worse though. I think Chase is a better QB than a few starting QB's in the league right now.

I'm glad chase is getting the extra reps...(just in case plus its good for his development)...I just wish SP was there with him
