No way I'm donating my hard earned money to a multi-milloinaire, who has been offered multi-millions and has turned it down because he wants more multi-millions.

Look we are all poor compared to these standards. I just think this it is about money structure and long term security. It may be about greed but why should not Brees get the same respect and security of say a Michael Vick whom I Ihate? So who is really at fault here? May be noone at fault just a hard deal to make. They used the horse to run the race and could have fixed this before now. My opinion is they should not have made him play out his contract and got this done before it came to thia.

They DID try and get this done before last season....he turned the offer down. When they were trying to continue to negotiate during the 2011-2012 season....he had the negotions stopped until the offseason....so its not ALL on the Saints FO, Brees/Condon are share the blame for the hold up as well......

I'm with you man. As I've said, I support Drew's right to hold out for every last penny he can get. If anybody has earned it, he has. But seriously? A Donation? A "fund"? Dude has made more money than the combined posters on this board will make in a lifetime, and he's done that in less than 10 years.

I support his right to hold out up to the deadline. If he hasn't signed something by then, well, then you guys can color me a hater.

Brees should be extremely frustrated with HIS AGENT...
AND FOR GOING WITH AN AGENT WHO IS BANNED FROM OTHER NFL OFFICES BECAUSE OF BS LIKE THIS!!!

I like the trust, even if it is just to prove a point. It's funny actually, and knowing it will all be donated to his charity anyway.

I still say from a business prospective it was a prudent decision.

Brees/Condon KNEW that manning and or Brady would be signing very large contracts. They also knew that Brees out preformed both of them.

Choices:
Sign a 18m/year contract in 2011 to be the highest paid QB THAT SEASON

or

Wait till now and sign a 21m/year contract and be the highest paid QB for at least a few years.

There was absolutely ZERO reason he should have signed early.

As a fan I wish he would have signed and this would all not be happening. If he called me and asked for my advice on the best business decision, I would have said sit on it and wait.

I don't disagree at all. Still, the Saints offers, based on what we know, were plenty fair, even though he turned them down. I'm only angry if he refuses to sign on what, July 16th or whatever the deadline is. Up 'til then he has every right to hold out. After that, if he hasn't signed, he sucks balls. :-)

When Drew does sign a contract who is going to be the beneficiary from the fund?
I think it should go to the BNG.
