To Vilma

Time to let it the fk go!

Right....... Wrong...... You need to take your self out of the teams picture and pursue his lawsuit on your own.

I have heard people disgruntled about Brees not putting the team first in regards to his contract, and also that "no one man comes before the team", "we are not going to hurt the team for one man"..

I am not willing to cut off my nose to spite my face, nor am i willing to support Vilma in dragging this out just to make a point to Goodell. No matter the outcome of this from this point on, Goodell had done what he set out to do and its time to stop retaliating. Goodells power was given to him by the players (NFLPA), like it or not the NFLPA made a monumental bad decision in doing this.

Vilma, bow the fk out brother. You had your appeal, you lost, your game isn't there anymore, it is time to let it go. By you dragging this on you are doing nothing but creating uncertainty in on-the-field leadership and the salary cap; neither the fans nor the players need the distraction or drama any more... You may be the innocent one in all of this (benefit of doubt) you may be 100% in the right; but at this point your battle is no longer doing the team any good. Time to look DeMaurice Smith in the eyes, tell him he is an idiot, and he made his bed now lay in it.

Thank you for all you have done but this dog is not hunting anymore.

A true leader does not sacrifice the many for the one.

Sorry man. I gotta disagree. Right is right. He's not just fighting for him but he's fighting for our coaches who can't fight for themselves. I say sue away. I'm behind him.
I wish Fujita would get involved.

B005TED 06-06-2012 08:18 AM

I agree with Jimmy, sue away brother. If GODell has this supposed "ledger", show it. Prove Vilma is the horrible, dispicable person you say he is. I'm behind ya Vilma, hope the truth comes out and you show the DICKtator he's wrong.

CharityMike 06-06-2012 08:55 AM

What good would telling DeMaurice Smith, he made his bead now lay in it, do?
He don't really give a crap. D Smith is not the one suspended for a year and losing his salary? Im just not getting your logic on this one.

SaintGup 06-06-2012 09:03 AM

I totally disagree. Vilma should carry on this fight as long as he feels the need to. The problem is that, if he doesn't, it sets a precedent for bosses to play the waiting game to see if the other side gives up. If you truly believe you are unfairly treated by employers, if you feel they have called you out unjustly, then why give up? That is exactly what they want him to do. If you are getting fed up reading about it, fine. But don't expect someone to give up what they believe in because YOU can't be bothered.

sharke 06-06-2012 09:26 AM

I totally get the frustration but Vilma should keep going.....and Jimmy B and SaintGup already stated the rest of my counterpoint.....

Not really a fan of action being taken w/o any proof given by management. My God, David Stern wouldn't even try that ****.

FinSaint 06-06-2012 09:39 AM

Vilma fighting this thing is absolutely for the benefit of the team, if he is healthy, he would undoubtedly be one of the starting LBs, which conversely would mean that SS wouldn't be a starter. ;-)

sharke 06-06-2012 11:05 AM

it all goes back to shanle doesn't it?

SaintsRule11 06-06-2012 11:11 AM

On a related note, with so many great linebackers, SS isn't still a starter is he? Sigh.

4thqtrsaint 06-06-2012 11:18 AM

Vilma's practicing and getting better. I dont see where there's really any distraction. As far as leadership, most of these cats know Vima well. If my friend were doing this, not only would it not distract me, it would motivate me. If Vilma misses time, we have other guys who can lead.

Its time somebody stood up to the Commish... Do NOT back down to this turd. He will learn he can't bully everybody. All this campaigning against him and our team just may force his hand and blow up in his face.

I've got Vilma's back until proven guilty.

saintfan 06-06-2012 11:54 AM

Yeah, disagree. He should take it as far as he can possibly take it. Matter of fact I think the players should strike, I really do.

Yeah, they negotiated and signed the deal, but in many ways their hands were tied, and they had to capitulate in areas where they otherwise wouldn't have because the "safety-conscious" NFL wanted 18 games...and for that matter still does.

What's going on right now with Roger Goodell has no precedent in the NFL that I'm aware of. Never has a commissioner been so heavy-handed while at the same time clearly manipulating and spinning and ducking and dodging.

The NFL has an agenda, and Roger Goodell will throw any and everybody under the bus if that's what it takes. He talks honor and integrity out of his ass while his actions are anything but.

No, these are uncharted waters, and the NFL is responsible for the violence it has promoted and for the way it has manipulated players to get them on the field and keep them there, and it is the NFL that should pay the piper, not Jonathan Vilma, Sean Payton, Greg Williams, or anybody else.

Fight on Jon. Take it as far as you can sir, and then take it a step further if you have do. Don't give in. Roger's whole plan is to wear down the public because he believes eventually we'll drop it because, you know, we just want football. SEE THAT. BEAT HIM BACK. FIGHT ON!!!!!

SaintsBro 06-06-2012 01:10 PM

x626xBlack, do you have a job? What if you got railroaded, and basically fired from your job, not shown any evidence of what you had done wrong to lose your job and income, permanent black mark next to your name, your reputation ruined, and then someone on a message board told you to just "let it the fk go" and "bow out, brother" and sit back and take it? I bet you'd feel pretty angry if somebody told you that!

And, furthermore, what if events that happened to you, affected your ability to earn money after your current career was over? What if you got fired from your job, and your boss went out of his way to say, "and by the way, you'll never work in this town again!" A big part of Vilma trying to clear his name here is to get his reputation back, so he can go into broadcasting or some other life after football -- endorsements, owning companies, partnering in business ventures, etc etc. This bounty thing could affect Vilma off the field, could indirectly affect his family and his children (if he has any) for YEARS to come.

So dude, you are basically saying that in order to make YOU feel better, you don't want Vilma to have that honest opportunity to prove his own integrity (or lack thereof if he's guilty), or to even earn potential money in his personal life after football. I get he frustration that everyone is feeling, but that's kinda weak sauce. Kinda self-centered.

He needs to fight. Then if all is said and done, and some kind of smoking gun proves he's truly guilty, THEN he needs to be thrown under the bus by the fans. Not now, not yet.

SaintPauly 06-06-2012 02:13 PM

I agree with everyone else. Vilma has gotta do, what he's gotta do. There is right, and there is wrong. Goodell is wrong. That's all we need to remember.

Rugby Saint II 06-06-2012 02:41 PM

He needs to call out a couple of players and have them sue Godhell as well.
