Brees anxiety

I, like a lot of other fans, am becoming anxious over Drew not having signed a contract, yet. While my reasoning tells me it'll get done before July 16th, I still feel nervous about the whole situation. I know that once Brees is signed, sealed and delivered back as a Saint my anxiety will quell greatly. Until then, I find myself seeking confirmation that he has signed literally on a daily basis. Am I the only one who might feel like I'm overreacting ?
There is NO doubt Bountygate has put a huge damper on this season, but, as a faithful, die-hard fan of our boys in Black N Gold, I know that once Brees is back, we'll have the pieces to make another Super Bowl run.
I would LOVE nothing more than for Roger GODdell to have to hand the Lombardi trophy to Tom Benson IN the Superdome no less. What way to give GODdell and the media the necessary middle finger salute they truly deserve ...

A warm glass of milk and a few Dansk Butter cookies always helps my anxiety.

If it helps your not the only one. Brees has a deal in place, but he is a union guy and there is one union hearing on June 28, i think which serves to decipher language in the franchise tag agreement. I think after that meeting you will see them sign him. At this point, I don't think I would want him at mini camp anyway with the injury bug rearing its ugly head

Overreacting a little. I'd say it's time to get nervous if training came comes and begins and Drew isn't any closer.

He is a master but EVERYONE needs reps.

At this point I think Drew will be there, but I'm concerned, as I've been since the beginning, with the loss of Sean Payton. That makes me nervous.

Behind every great team and QB is a great coach. I can't think of 1 team in the NFL that won the Superbowl with a ton of talent and second string coach.

Unfortunately, barring a Sandusky style scandal for Goodell, SP will not be coaching this year and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

As of today mini camps are over. The Saints do not reassemble as a team until July 27th, the start of training camp. Therefore, it doesn't matter when a deal is done as long as it is by the July 16th deadline for multi-year deals.

I agree with all of your points ... It's the "Union Guy" thing that worries me ... He has had multiple opportunities to sign what I think would by anyones perspective has been more than one very reasonable offer ... He has had offers put in place before the new labor agreement which he rejected then called off all negotiations ... He is a smart man and has said all the right things right up and until he has starting saying NOTHING ... In the end he will and should do whats best for Drew Brees and family and why I see no issue with the guaranteed money that seem to be the core issue according to most of the press releases ... I just hope that New Orleans and the Saints Fans are part of the family situation ... Besides team wise there are not many places that would be able to put the supporting cast on the field this year or next that will allow Drew's talents to be showcase like they are in New Orleans and is not getting younger ... If he stands on principal for the union on this tag issue and then does not sign or play this year ...Then its about money ... Period! ... I am in Rome Italy tonight as write this and was at the Vatican earlier today ... While I was in the area I looked up at That Balcony asked for just a little Divine Intervention to help Mickey sign "Saint Drew" ... :help: ...

And I think there is a strong possibility that you need to be institutionalized if you feel that is the case.

:)

im starting to believe that he hasnt signed yet so he can stay in touch with Payton legally and Coach is doing a huge brain dump to him as we speak

That dump happened over the past six years. No more is needed. At this point, when Payton craps Brees wipes. And vice versa.
