Saints still waiting for Brees to respond to June 1 offer

In May, Saints quarterback Drew Brees complained that the team wasn’t demonstrating a sufficient sense of urgency in contract talks. Now, the shoe is on the other foot.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Brees’ camp still hasn’t responded to the last offer the team made, way back on June 1.

God I just wish this was over. If he signs the tag I think this is his last year as a Saint. Hate to see him go.

Yeah I hate to say it but I agree

If he plays under the tag I've got a feeling he will ask for a trade, it's his own fault though, the team has done everything they should have

Offered him three contracts, if he plays under the tag he's only got himself to blame

I'd hate to see him ask for a trade but if he does, life goes on.....

We support the team not one player

I know he says he's playing this year, but I don't think he'll play under the tag. He'll sit.

All this being reported by ESPN, c'mon guys chill... This is ESPN we're talking about

Remember all their "shady" reporting and "sources" during the offseason

Agreed. He'll play under the tag this year, but after this season why would he sign a long-term deal with the Saints making $20 million a season when being tagged again by the Saints would net him $24 million?? The Saints won't pay him that much and he'll hit free-agency. It's all speculation of course, but I haven't seen any sign that he wants to get this long-term deal done.

Really? I thought he was supposed to hold weekly press conferences telling the public exactly what's going on at the negotiating table...

We haven't heard anything from him, so all these reports are just here-say and we actually have no idea what's going on...

I'd say 1 year of the Saints wanting to sign him to a long-term deal and Drew turning down 3 contract offers (all of which would make him the highest paid player in the NFL) is pretty strong enough to make me say that with 6 days left I haven't seen much evidence that he wants to get the deal done.

Me too. I'm almost beginning to believe the conspiracy theorists that maybe he does wanna end up in Texas, along with Payton.

I used to think that was just plain foolish. Now I'm just not sure anymore.
There's a whole lot of BS coming out of Brees' mouth the last two seasons. I'm officially worried, but only a little.
