Then, not having a backup QB worthy of being on a NFL roster made things almost impossible. Add to that, having a head coach who was way over his head and only got his job at the request of the former head coach, and then you have the Colts last year. I was thinking along the lines, and correct me if I'm wrong because I really didn't follow the Manning situation that close, that Indy was trying to release/not sign Peyton so as to avoid paying him a huge chunk of change in his contract, something like $55 million? Drew's deal looked to me like they worked it out to avoid a situation like that ... one good thing about the Indy situation, Detroit's got 'em on the schedule, :lol:. |
