I know that your first response is that people are a lot faster in the NFL, but others have met the challenge and continued to excel in the pros.

I am only wondering out loud because it is curious that someone who had such success in college would struggle so in the pros.

Aside from the injuries, I think part of it is the offensive scheme he played in at NO in that he was as much of a pass receiver as a running back ... and when you got a QB like Drew, that's just the way it is.

Look at his first year with MIA ... who's their QB? Henning? Moore? Who's the other running backs? He's not sharing the load and gets twice as many carries as in NO, a lot fewer passes, so he busts out a 1000yd+ season ... plus he stayed healthy all season ... it's one of those 'right place/right time' deals for him & I think he's going to have some good seasons with MIA.

Bush's 1st year with the Saints.... (what did he do?)

Bush had 88 receptions (I belive that was arecord for RBs at the time) to lead the team, his first year was a really good one.

I however think the Saints coachingstaff misused Bush during his time in New Orleans. He is not a guy that should get 3 carries, 5 receptions and a puntreturn, thats not the way to get the best out of him. Bush IMO is a rythm player, he need to get touches in order to blossom. And more than anything, don't try to just give him the ball in space, his best runs comes from the Pro formation with a FB in front of him. The Saints were stupidly scared to use him as a everydown back and that was his downfall in NOLA.

Whilst you are exactly right and I completely agree with you, it was hard for the coaches to give him 10-15 carries a week when he was constantly hurt, he might be playing but he always had something wrong with him

I never have understood why guys who think a thread is yesterday's news or beating a dead horse don't just move on to another thread rather than trying to squash a thread. Try to look at it this way...

If you are the author of the thread, would you appreciate someone trying to shoot the thread down? I didn't think so. We try to treat everyone like family here...for the most part...and it is out of courtesy that we hold our snide remarks to a minimum and that is why we all love this place.

Personally, I have never seen a thread that compared Bush and Sproles and I thought it was a good topic...but then I don't live on the board so I am sure I might have missed one or two.

Typically I'm a stat nerd but in this case, I'll go with what I felt when I was watching them play.

When Sproles gets the ball I'm hoping he jukes a tackler and scores a touchdown.

When Reggie got the ball, I just hoped he'd run forward.

Maybe... time will tell... his having to split time in the backfield here assuredly has lengthened his career in the NFL. Although he sure seemed to be made of porcelain at times. Or was that Kim's fault?

Kim's fault ... you can't hang around a diva like that and not expect some of it to rub off, look at what she did to that basketball player ... look what Madonna did for Dennis Rodman, Alex Rodriguez ... women weaken legs, it's a known fact, ;) ... no sex before a fight, either.
