Buddy D said that Sullivan was looking really good. He wan't in game shape, but was close. He has been taking extra reps and even asking for extra reps.

Haslett said he wasn't at his ideal weight but he was close. He has been working harder than he has ever since he has been here and asked for extra reps at almost every practice.

Just thought some would like to know our Saints are working hard.

Johnathan Sullivan Update.

This is some of the best news i\'ve heard in awhile, sounds like the John Pease effect to me,,, or maybe Sullivan maturing a lil,, or maybe Leisle breathing down his neck or........WHATEVER... i\'ll take any of the above. I\'m real curious to see how the entire line plays this year with Pease coaching them up.

Sully came in very overweight too. I hope Pease will be the key to our success this year. Maybe we can get a pass rush going and stop the run which can take the heat off the DB\'s.

If Sullivan can get the pounds off, and then have us rotate Sully, R. Leslie, K. Smith, and Bryant Young in the middle and then push the corners with Howard, Will Smith, Whitehead and Grant, that would be great!

I lived in Nashville the last 3 years and watched the Titans do that every year. Some of it was forced (e.g. Kearse\'s injury) but the coaching staff found it kept everybody fresh all season long and everybody fighting for their job on every play. I\'ve heard people argue that pro athletes need to \"know\" they\'re the starter week-in and week-out, but you know, for $3 million per, you\'d better prove to me you deserve it.

Johnathan Sullivan Update.

Sullivan drew the ire of Haslett, defensive coordinator Rick Venturi and defensive line coach John Pease after reporting to the team\'s offseason strength and conditioning program weighing nearly 350 pounds. He has lost between 12 and 15 pounds but needs to get down to his reporting weight of 315 for training camp, or he could lose $366 per pound per day in fines.

\"Sullivan is getting there,\" Haslett said. \"I don\'t think he\'s there yet. I don\'t think anybody is really there yet. But when he gets to camp and when we get our 28 practices in, I expect him to be fine.\"
