realistically can we.win the Super Bowl?

If not how far do we have to go or what record will make you happy.

TheOak 07-27-2012 11:36 AM

I will not be completely happy unless we are 19-0

If only to make Goodell have to dodge bullets in new Orleans to hand us the trophy. And congratulate us on being able to thwart his diabolical plot to destroy us. Oh and lets not forget the first team to win the SB at home!

Go big or go home.

Rugby Saint II 07-27-2012 11:37 AM

Nothing but home field advantage throughout the playoffs and a Superbowl victory will do.

rdanderson91 07-27-2012 11:44 AM

SuperBowl or bust. I don't care about records. 18-1 don't mean anything if the one is the last one

Utah_Saint 07-27-2012 11:51 AM

Offense should be about the same as last year. Defense should be better. So if the team sticks together, they've got to be one of the favorites.

papz 07-27-2012 12:19 PM

One would have to be a Falcons fan to not believe the Saints have a realistic shot at winning the Superbowl.

blackangold 07-27-2012 12:49 PM

I will be content with a 11-5 season, NFC South championship, and making it to the NFC championship Game.

If we were to win the Superbowl this year it would be the most impressive season that any team in the history of the league has had. Think about all the adversity that we must go through this year and the story-line with Goodell handing the trophy to a team he tried to destroy in their own city. That would be priceless and would be looked at as the greatest season a team has ever had.

FinSaint 07-27-2012 01:29 PM

"We" can't, but the New Orleans Saints sure can. :bng:

arsaint 07-27-2012 01:30 PM

To steal a line from Obama, who stole it from Bob the Builder...

YES WE CAN!

I'm expecting at least 11-13 wins and a NFC South title.

However, I WANT 19-0 with no game competitve. I want Chase Daniel to play so much at the end of the games that his arm is sore all season.

mutineer10 07-27-2012 02:37 PM

Sure we can. We can't do it easy ... but neither can anybody else.

I'm expecting a good season, and hoping for a great one!

AsylumGuido 07-27-2012 03:10 PM

I absolutely believe we can win the Super Bowl. In fact, I am expecting it.

CharityMike 07-27-2012 03:34 PM

I am expecting us to. If the team has half the passion we do, It will happen!!

SaintsBro 07-27-2012 03:39 PM

Honestly, the bare minimum to make me HAPPY this year, is really pretty simple... I just want to see the Saints freaking RUN UP THE SCORE on some people, to go bat-%^$ crazy, and open multiple cans of whoopass on everything in sight -- players, refs, Goodell, the lamestream media, everybody. I want the Saints to not just be opening the cans of whoopass, I want to see them shaking up the cans, poking holes in them and SHOTGUNNING the whoopass. BEER BONGING the whoopass!

I want to be the team (and the rabid, insane fan base) that no one in their right mind wants to face....that will make me happy

We saw this in the Super Bowl year -- teams that lost to the Saints would get a "hangover" that would last 2, 3, even 4 games after they played us. Remember that? I want that again. I want the Saints to crush other teams' dreams in a pile of 40 and 50 burgers, or steal close games, and leave opponents demoralized and bewildered as to what just happened to them at the final gun. Leave them crying like babies as our players proudly pose for pictures on their midfield logo.

In some ways, this year is kinda like a freebie to me, like playing with house money... no one's ever done this before, no team has had this happen to them, can't do anything about it, no Payton, so why not just go all out for broke, as a fan. Savor the adversity. Half the world thinks we're evil people, and the other half thinks we're crazy, for supporting this team right now. Well, why not give the world a show! If ever there was a year besides 2006 for fans to just cut loose and go crazy and have fun, THIS is it.

Of course I want to win it all! But anything to PI%^ off Goodell and the league and all the media talking heads, and the Falcons and the Panthers and the fans of other teams who think the Saints are gonna be a pushover this year, I'm down with it. If we can just get into the playoffs I think all betting odds will suddenly swing wildly in our favor.

73Saint 07-27-2012 03:59 PM

I believe we can win, it could happen. But, I think it's going to be a lot more difficult than most of you seem to think. We are without our leader, plain and simple. I understand there is a culture that's been created, but no Payton, in my opinion is a HUGE loss. A Huge Loss.

It's going to be very difficult. Looking forward to seeing how it plays out.

Danno 07-27-2012 04:54 PM

We are the most talented team in the NFL, with a top 3 QB.

Of course we can win it all, barring key or excessive injuries.

But there are 4 or 5 other teams that have enough talent to beat us if they get a lucky bounce or two.

I'll be disappointed if we don't go past round 1 of the playoffs, but anything can happen after that.

Anything less than a Super Bowl is a failure. Every team that does not win the Super Bowl is a loser. I dont care what the record is as long as we win the Super Bowl. I dont care if we are 9-7 and turn it on during the playoffs to go all the way. I think we CAN win the Super Bowl, but without a HC and with all the adversity it is going to be tough.

Technically yes, but a 1-15 team that goes 13-3 the following year and loses the Superbowl by one point is hardly what I'd call a loser.

Its all relative to the fans perspective. Before we ever one a playoff game, when we finally won our first we all felt like we have one the Super Bowl. We have achieved the ultimate goal since then and now nothing else will do. Once you have been to the top it is actually a short fall back down to earth.

Does a 1-legged duck swim in a circle?

alleycat_126 07-27-2012 09:14 PM

Everybody wants 19 - 0, but you said realistically. Homefield is the key, if we get the homefield, we won't lose. I'll take whatever record we have to get to get the home field!!!! 13-3, 12-4 is what I expect.

QBREES9 07-27-2012 11:05 PM

YES !

spkb25 07-28-2012 10:41 AM

I think we have a better team than in 09 so yes, we can. I think

lee909 07-28-2012 10:47 AM

Yes we can.
Could be a difficult start but once the suspensions are done if we are still in contention(we should be) we have a good shot.
Without the suspensions I think we would be the team to beat.

Win the division and then go from there.
