Brees on Goodell: "Nobody Trusts Him..."

1 Attachment(s)
On NFL players' attitudes to Goodell: Brees got quiet and thought for a moment, then said: "Nobody trusts him. Nobody trusts him. I'm not talking about a DUI, or using a gun in a strip club, which are pretty clear violations. I think there're too many times where the league has come to its decision in a case before calling a guy in, and the interview is just a façade. I think now if a guy has to come in to talk to Roger, he'll be very hesitant because he'll think the conclusion has already been reached.''

I'd keep my mouth shut if I was Drew... I'd be afraid of what Goodell might do in way of a suspension...

I can hear Roger now: "Freedom of Speech does not apply in my league!"

Drew leads a clean life. He doesn't have to worry about retribution with calling out the Kommisar. And he's right.................nobody trusts him!:brood:
It's an abuse of power!

Whoa....this raised my brow:

8. I think this is the cost of doing business the way I think it should be done in NFL journalism these days -- and I tell you this because it may affect my ability to know as much about the Saints as I've known in the past few years. Joe Vitt and Mickey Loomis, the New Orleans past and future 2012 brain trust, are not speaking to me, presumably because of my reporting on the Saints' bounty case. Sean Payton told me earlier in the year he wouldn't speak to me either, because he didn't think I reported the story fairly. I'd had great relationships with Loomis and Payton. But that's how it goes. For the record, I regret nothing that I've written or said on the case.

I am glad you don't regret anything you jumped to a conclusion on. You have turned into a hack like the rest of them.

We'll see how much you don't regret it when you are trying to get a story on the next SB champs and you get DENIED!!

I won't even click the link to read that article. Peter King is a blogging, sensationalist HACK and a YES MAN for Goodell and the NFL.

I'm on that list for sure. Put me down on the not talking to Peter King list too.

Why would they talk to him so he can make ignorant comments after the fact like he did after he took Brees comments in this very same article. It just seems like there only a few sports journalists these days that actually want to do their job and get to the truth and investigate. One of the few thats gotten to the bottom of some of these fictional accusations the NFL has made is one of the most blatant Saints haters...Prisco....that says a lot about the state of investigative reporting. if the one guy who's been the most biased against your team is one of the only ones that actually has the balls to get to the truth of the matter....thats sad.

Sports journalist have turned into the very same bloggers that the chastise all the time....but in the past few years, most of these so called bloggers are doing a much better job than they are. So no Peter King....they won't talk to you...and I don't blame them one bit. I hope during every PC Vitt (or whoever the interim/interim is) shuts these National & Local (yeah...I'm talking to you Jeff Duncan) down if their questions are not about the game.
