I say there's no way in hell Goodell would go the the Saints training camp. It's not even fathomable to me.

Considering he was a no show in the courtroom that Vitt attended...it would be wise to stay away.

Someone handing you a trophy who caused so much grief just doesn't seem appropriate considering the applause would be drowned out by boos and heckling.

IF and a big if ...

Goodell would be under extreme pressure to step down as commissioner. The media is still on his and the leagues side because they would rather report on the jets and manning than look at the 'bounty' issues and the lack of evidence. However, if the court decision is favorable to the Saints and Vilma it will force the media to examine everything much more and perhaps do their job as reporters.

Heck if the Falcons are doing anything like that, I would want anybody involved in it our who knew about it and did nothing to stop it, gone for a year. Especially because of what I've seen happen to the Saints.

You mean to tell me that if your head coach and the leader of your defense got suspended for a whole year without seeing an inkling of evidence to justify such a harsh punishment you would embrace it and be ok with it? You and the rest of the NFL fans just don't get it. There is no one on here who will say that we shouldn't be punished. We were told to stop and didn't. We are not arguing that fact. What we are upset about is that this whole thing is being painted as a "bounty" to purposely injure players for money. Until we see evidence to prove that is what was going on then we have no other reason to think that it was nothing more than a "pay-for-performance" program run by every other team in the league for years. Most on here don't feel Goodell singled out the Saints just because it's the Saints. But if he's going to take the power given to him by the CBA and abuse it like he has in this instance then other teams need to stand up and take notice because I have a feeling he isn't going to stop here. So the rest of you need to look out because he is obviously a power hungry individual who has to be in total and complete control. If nothing comes out of our fight for true justice and Goodell gets of scott free then there will be no stopping him. Just watch and see. f

Slightly off topic, but when it comes to that whole "they were told to stop and they didn't" thing... It's kind of hard to stop doing something that you're not doing in the first place (Bounty program). I mean, are you telling me that Goodell hounded the Saints for 3 years for a pay for performance pool of money which is what he's changed his tune to now?! I don't know, that might kind of be why we feel like the Saints have been treated unfairly.

Hell yeah. I don't condone stuff like that. There is enough evidence to conclude that the Saints were using a bounty progam

ChrisXVI 08-02-2012 07:25 PM

Even though Goodell himself stopped calling it a Bounty program and started calling it a "pay for performance program for big, clean, legal hits"?!? How about that story with the pic to prove it that a few years ago the Chiefs locker room had "Kill the Head and the Body Will Die" painted acrossed a whole wall? Gregg Williams said it so the Saints must be guilty... but no-one else.

That's your evidence? Tough talk. Really? Yes, that speech was disturbing and I don't condone what he said, but you're not going to convince me that any player on that defense took him at the literal word. If that's what you're taking as irrefutable evidence then you are no different than Goodell. I want to see REAL evidence that money was on the table to intentionally hurt other players. As ChrisXVI said, even the NFL has backed off the bounty talk and admitted to it being a pay-for-performance program. What about the parts of the program that fined players for mistakes, penalties, and such. You and everone else tends to take bits and pieces of this whole mess to twist it into what you want. Don't get me wrong. If evidence surfaces that backs up the claims of a pay to "injure" program then I will be solidly behind the suspensions. But until I see or hear more than a few dirty words and tough talk I won't believe for a second that our players went out with the intent to injure other players for a few measly bucks.

I think we walked under a bridge and encountered a troll... Let's stop feeding him. Besides, in Atlanta they're "distracted" by all of the other things going on in that city that they supposedly can't be as passionate about their team lol.
