"He's probably made the most drastic improvement on the team from one year to the next," Saints coach Jim Haslett said. "He's got the skills. He started at one time (for the San Diego Chargers). It just took him a while to learn the defense, but I think he's in the top one or two among corners right now."

Asked if Brown was a candidate to crack the first unit, Haslett said, "There is a very good chance that he could start."

There are two ways to look at this:

1) Brown is the real deal and we have a unforseen great corner right here under our noses. It may be possible, as this is Brown\'s fifth season and he is known to be our speed corner.

2) This is spin and our other corners have gotten worse in the off-season. Hard to imagine from Thomas as he is a fighter. Not too sure about Craft. Easy to believe about Ambrose and \"playstation\" Craver.

3. Haz and crew are pumping this guy up so that GB thinks we might not need McKenzie or want to give up a huge price for him, thus forcing them to drop their asking price.

4. Brown was abducted by aliens in the offseason and given bionic implants.

All I know was I saw Brown make plays last year.
Which is more than I can say for some of our other corners.
I think Brown will earn more playing time and could be better than Craft.

I\'ve been somewhat impressed with what I\'ve seen of Fahkir Brown the few times he\'s been on the field. He reminds me of what Sammy Knight would be like if he played corner. He\'s a freakin ballhawk. Always seems to be around the play and defends pretty well. If he\'s as improved as Haslett says he is, look for this guy to be starting or our nickleback this year. I\'m pulling for this kid.

Brown did make plays and was coming on strong towards the end of the year...

i thought the same thing of keyou craver when he first came into the league about being a ballhawk, he was always around the ball when he was on the field, before he got hurt but as of late he has seem to regress.

i hope both of these guys finally step up and craver can return to the way he played in his rookie campaign
