Anyone worried about the Washington game?

Given the fact that we absolutely should win this game hands down. Remember games like the Rams game and others over the past few years that were at the very bottom of the NFL that made us look even worse. Sometimes its the ****ty teams that scare me more than the elite teams. Im not real worried simply because this is RG3s first NFL game and it is in the dome. He is going to get a hell of a welcome to the NFL. You never know what can happen though.

Halo 08-03-2012 10:33 PM

Redskins game is not the top game I choose this season in the previous poll. It will be fun watching RG3, but IMHO he'll have a decent rookie season then fight off the sophomore blues.... then we'll see what he can do.

LBCutta 08-03-2012 10:42 PM

no worried at all. with all the crap we've had to put up with this offseason i think the boys come out like gangbusters

QBREES9 08-03-2012 11:07 PM

No. Why should we be.

Wilde18 08-04-2012 05:36 AM

Shouldn't be worried. Support from Germany is in the Dome, can't loose that game :P

I'm waiting on the thread from The Dude worried about whether Drew is wearing his lucky socks... He worries about everything!

ChrisXVI 08-04-2012 07:51 AM

Come on man... it's a QB's first ever pro game and he has to play a very pissed off Saints in the Superdome. Veteran QB's have a hard enough time playing in the Dome so I actually kind of feel bad for ol' Bob Griffin because he's not going to have a very pleasant introduction to the NFL on that particular Sunday!

Nice one! Great to see that there are other Who Dat Nation members in german speaking Europe.

Viel Spaß beim Spiel - Enjoy the game!

SaintsBro 08-04-2012 09:54 AM

You're kidding right? This is going to be an epic beatdown that's going to be very similar to the Detroit opener in '09 -- a wild, crazy, fun, enjoyable blowout game, that will have us all high-fiving,saying WOW, but also will probably show a little bit of the future Saints weaknesses as well -- whatever they may be this year. Detroit '09 game, you had a rookie QB against our new defensive coordinator, in the Dome, opening day, it was a HUGE Saints blowout, offense looked amazing, and look what happened for us the rest of that year.

It's ALSO gonna be like the Atlanta '06 game inside the Dome, completely insane and off the hook, from the turf to the rafters. People in Who Dat nation are ticked off and ready to blow off steam. RGIII has never seen or heard anything like what is in store for him, ever.

I don't have much to add to what you said, but I agree so strongly with your statement SaintsBro that I just felt the need to quote it and keep that sentiment going!! Well done Sir!!

Utah_Saint 08-04-2012 10:12 AM

35+ years of rooting for the Saints has gotten me conditioned. I'm pre disposed to paranoia.

I'm worried about the Redskins game, I'm worried about the warm ups before the Redskins game, I'm worried about the pre-game interviews, I'm worried about the bus ride to the stadium before the Redskins game...and I'm sure I'll figure out a couple other things to worry about on game day.

Wilde18 08-04-2012 10:18 AM

Utah, 'bout time to stop worri-ing! We will rock those Redskins!!!!

I was waiting so long to go to the Dome. The skins will NOT, NOT AT ALL ruin that day!!!!

Somewhere over the rainbow!

Seer1 08-04-2012 10:29 AM

I'm mostly concerned (deliberately didn't use the W word) about the team going to sleep before the game without Sean there to get them fired up. It's those low rated teams that seem to sneak up on us because we somehow get the idea the game's already won before it even starts.

Do your job and get'r won!

spkb25 08-04-2012 03:04 PM

Feel like we are going to want to make a statement. At home, opening day- yeah

Rugby Saint II 08-04-2012 04:02 PM

No matter how badly we beat the Redskins analysts...I mean anl cysts( I love it. I saw it earlier and stole it.) will say that we won't be able to keep up the steam against stronger opponents or manage to keep the intesity without Sean......blah blah blah!

Boutte 08-04-2012 04:23 PM

I worry about every game. If I'm not worried about losing I worry about injuries. I worry that some one else is going to get the last bratt. I worry that the TV is going to go out at worst possible moment. (Thank God I got rid of Dish TV) I worry that Drew isn't going to get his TD pass. I worry that Sproles is going to finally realize that he's too small to play pro-football. I worry that one of our safeties is going to get an interception and half the Dome will go into shock. I worry that Shanle is going to announce that he intends to play till he's 40. I worry that every joint in Chris Ivorie's body is going to explode at the same time. (And we learn he'll miss four games.)

I worry.

CharityMike 08-04-2012 06:31 PM

Looks like you guy's have all the worrying covered! Let me know when it's my turn to start worrying LOL

Wilde18 08-04-2012 06:53 PM

I am worried about my hangover 2morrow. But you know what? F*** it! Sean told the guys to do their job, and this is exactly what they are going 2 do!

DO U'r JOB

I don't mean to nitpick ...because you made an excellent post......but I'm not sure anything will ever compare to the 2006 Atlanta game. Don't get me wrong, fans are totally gonna be fired up......but they were also fired up for the 2006 Philly divisional game...2009 Arizona divisional game.....2009 NFC title game vs. Minny.......and even then, I'm not sure those games (as epic as they were) can touch what happened the last Monday night of September in 2006.

nevergiveup3 08-04-2012 08:24 PM

Ahhh it took one week to get the obligatory "Am I the only one worried about {Insert next Team here}

NO

Ashley 08-04-2012 08:38 PM

Just scream WHO DAT at the top of your lungs every now and then. I yell it all the time up here at the donkey fans, and now I yell it more to the Alex Smith Utah fans. I will never back down or quit on my Saints.
Geaux SAINTS.
But still always worried, that's just me.

Are you worried that every time you step outside you will be hit by a falling piano? I don't think I have ever seen anyone on this site with more negative vibes. Maybe you need to check out WoeIsMe.com, instead.

TheGambler 08-04-2012 08:52 PM

Maybe i'll feel different after I see a few preseason games....but for now I'm absolutely not worried about the Redskins game at all. If anything, I'm more "worried" (and I use that term loosely, since I think the Saints can beat anybody in the league) about week 2 , @ Carolina. They've given us the most problems out of all the NFC South foes.

There were quite a few Sundays that it felt like a piano had just landed on my head...

then jumped on my chest and ripped out my heart.

Like I said, it's conditioning.

Carolina scares me a bit too. Like you said they always play us hard, even when they suck. Cam is going to be a pain in our arse for many years to come. I think they are a lot healthier on Defense this year and they will probably be 2nd in the South when it is all said and done.

I find most donkey fans give a, "Huh?" back when I give them a, "Who Dat?" I bet new #1 donky fan Manning knows what it means.

At the same time, I have yet to hit the 12,000 foot passes on the off road trails of Colorado and not get a "Who Dat?" yelled at the Saints decal on the front bumper of my Jeep.

TheDeuce 08-05-2012 02:12 PM

What does worry me is how much trouble running QBs tend to give Saints defenses. I think we've gotten more athletic on that side of the ball with Lofton, Hawthorne, and Bunkley... but you've gotta have CBs who can step up and make plays too. Overall we should win the game, but heck, I worry about every game, hope our boys do too... don't overlook anybody.

mutineer10 08-05-2012 04:16 PM

The Redskins won't be a pushover - "any given Sunday" and all that - but I'm not necessarily "worried."

I expect the Saints to show up pissed off, the crowd to show up loud & rowdy, and everybody takes out their off-season frustrations on the 'Skins!

so stoked, just for that reason

That said, win or lose I do slightly feel bad for RGIII. He had nothing to do w/ any of the suspensions yet will get a lot of the fans frustration for it. Though, that sympathy is worn down by every time I see his damn Adidas add.

that seems to be our recent history... out of the national spotlight & out of the big matchups, we have a lot of "Rams" moments.

-- Its RGIII's first game, so he'll be swimming in press. I remember Troy Aikman's first game. We won 28-0.
