this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Haslett today told Keyou Craver to leave practice and not to come back until he gets his act together. Haz said Craver was overweight and acted like he was in another world. Also said that he didn't want his attitude ...

craver, so much for being one of the top 8 or so corners in your draft. fat fat fat. atleast sullivan lost most of his weight by now. craver may have shown a couple flashes here and there but until he comes to camp ripped i say keep him out. haz is really impressing me with his attitude, swearing over the wsmith situation and kicking keyou outta camp

Cancer number ??? .... I am losing count

At least Hasbeen is pulling his power trip act early rather then midseason .

Maybe Hasbeen should start the Saintsations at corner then something truthful might come out of his mouth \" Those corners hit like girls \" ..... :P

Haz never called Keyou a cancer; he chucked him because he wasn\'t going to be able to be a benefit to the team. Would you rather that Haz kept him? I don\'t understand your point 08. Power trip? When a player isn\'t going to be able to compete, you bench him or cut him - that isn\'t a power trip, that is good coaching.

I agree, JKool. 08, You call HAz a Hasbeen. But I think this is exactly what this team needs: some DISCIPLINE. The one think I have seen with the Saints the past few years consistently is lack of concentration. It seems like their minds are elsewhere at crucial times. Fumbles, interceptions, missed tackles. The guys need to take things more seriously, this serves a s a wake up call, and i am all for it.

It seems no matter what our coaches or QB do, never good enough. If reports come out that our DT\'s and CB\'s are overweight, our #1 draft DE is huffing and puffing, and Haz didn\'t do anything about it, people would be biatching. If stands firm, he\'s power tripping...

Shrume and Kool --

Welcome to the last three years of my life. I\'ll never tell any of you that Haz is \"perfect\", but when you look at things with an open mind you come to realize that, with some folks anyway, Haz just can\'t win for losin\'. Damned if you do...damned if you don\'t. But then some people just aren\'t happy unless they\'re unhappy. You know the type.

I still would like to hope that Craver could turn it around and contribute to this team. It\'s early, right? Maybe this type of embarrassment is just what he needs.

What do you guys expect Haz to do this season? I\'m happy he\'s got a little fire this year; let\'s me know that he knows his tight and round is near the burners.

Overweight and habitually late for meetings -- so Haz told him to hit the road and come back with his head on straight. It\'s a wakeup call, and a deserved one. Now it\'s up to Craver...it\'s ALWAYS up to the player. If he can\'t get himself together the team is better off without him.

Saintfan,

I don\'t actually think it is always up to the player (let me say that it is mostly up to the player). However, I\'ve recently come to the veiw that many NFLers are basically children in terms of certain kinds of mental development; thus, a coach that fosters an environment where it is easy to be a baby can be part of the problem, IMO.

That said, it hardly seems Keyou\'s problem is one of environment - this overweight stuff is a new problem around NO (Grady had a history of showing up overweight BEFORE he got here); thus, I see no reason to think that HAZ is even part of the cause of Keyou\'s weight (until I am shown otherwise). It is more reasonable to believe that Keyou\'s bad attitude came from hanging out with Grady.

I wish Craver could turn it around; but why should we concern ourselves? This is a guy who hasn\'t done a single thing on an NFL game day to be worth our time. Depending on how overweight he is, there is plenty of time to trim down, but with each practice he misses, he loses valuable reps. The greater concern is still DEPTH at CB, as Gator notes.

I agree 100% that depth at CB is the issue. I get a bit frustrated tho when a grown man is held accountable for another grown man\'s lack of...well...anything. But yes, Gator is right...our depth at CB sucked before Cravers little brain cramp, and it sucks worse now.
