What I like about a lot of these position battles this year is that, for a lot of them, I don't have a fave or someone I'm rooting for -- for that last WR for instance, Arrington, Toon, Morgan, turn them loose and let them play, I just want SOMEONE to do something. Don't care who.

I have also said this before -- a lot of people diss him, but every year in preseason I like to watch Courtney Roby fight and scrap and scrape his way onto the roster by hook or by crook, by doing whatever it takes. Every year it's like, maybe he'll make it, maybe not, and every year he does something on the field to earn it. If the coaches asked him to run into a brick wall, he'd do it. I like the guy because of that.

Hey Dude, good to see a bit of sunshine in your thread. It sounds like most of us are interested in the same things, the D line, LBs, tackling and the WR battle. I'm going to throw in the OL. I'm curious how Grubbs gels with the rest of the crew. I'm thinkin' he'll be a good fit, but I want to see it with my own eyes. I think the DBs need to improve in pass defense and tackling more than catching the ball. We've spent the past three years living and dying by the turnover. We can win the Superbowl if we just keep the other team in its place by getting them to fourth down in a hurry.

As an aside, even if Roby gets cut there's a very good chance he's back with the team before the end of the season..... Just sayin'.

I only care about the backups at this point. It's the first preseason game......it'll be sloppy as Hell. Still, I can't wait. I'd take a nap but there is no way I could sleep.

Ive already got the wings brining and am just waiting to throw them in the fryer. No way I can sleep. I tried to sleep in today so I wouldn't have to wait so long to see the game but I woke up even earlier than I usually do to go to work.
