I didnt see any news of it here.. and well, this is where I come for news.

"Injury Update: Interim coach Joe Vitt said starting CBs Jabari Greer and Patrick Robinson would not play in the Hall of Fame Game along with rookie WR Nick Toon. Greer had sports hernia surgery in Philadelphia on Thursday. Robinson has been out with a shoulder injury he sustained Sunday. Toon exited practice with a left-foot injury on Thursday.

“We think it (Toon's return)'s probably going to be anywhere from six to 10 days,” Vitt said.

It's not a new injury for Toon, a fourth-round pick from Wisconsin. He missed the Senior Bowl and did not participate in the NFL scouting combine due to a lingering left foot injury. He broke scar tissue in the foot that came from surgery to repair a stress fracture in 2011, forcing him to miss Wisconsin's spring practice. He sat out the Indiana game because of pain in the foot but still finished the year with 64 catches for 926 yards and 10 touchdowns."

Toon is not making this team.

Question, Why is Greer having his surgery in Philadelphia?

Ryan Howard's surgery was delayed because of an infection?

Cruize 08-06-2012 06:57 AM

He can't have more talent than Morgan. Morgan is a true playmaker.

saintsfan1976 08-06-2012 06:59 AM

Toon will make the team JP. He's to good not to.

Besides, isn't our rookie draft pick being injured his first season about par for the course??

Neither is AA in light of yet another injury. And it's not like we haven't seen some new blood in this here last game. Toon has two or three more games before a decision is made, methinks.

I don't care who, but we need somebody to step up. Colston & Moore are solid, Henderson is ... well, Henderson, but we really need to fill that Meachem-shaped hole in our WR corps.

Andy Tanner looked good.

FinSaint 08-06-2012 04:28 PM

Yeah, Tanner looked good although he did let at least one go off his hands and he did have that turn over after the vicious tackle after the catch.

Greer looked pretty well on the sideline, so I do believe the initial projection of him being ready to play come week 1 will hold up, parring any complications with the rehab.

The Dude 08-06-2012 04:43 PM

Hopefully he gets healed up and is ready to go next week because AA's injury sounds serious.

I'm curious to see who comes out on top but it's not that big of a deal. Many teams would love to have our dilema. We have 3 solid WR's and a monster TE. We also have an arsenal of RB's that are very good. Toon is not a lock to make this team either. PT beat out a respectable draft pick so unless Toon shows something he's Audi 500.

I can't see a 4th round pick not making the team, I'm sorry...

Yeah, Pierre was obviously better than Pittman. I don't see anyone of PTs caliber in our young receivers unless maybe it's Morgan. Pittman was pretty much a disappointment anyway. Is he even in the league anymore?
