Other than every teams concerns about key or excessive injuries...

1. The unchartered territory of an entire year w/out Sean Payton (although I'm of the opinion we'll be fine for 1 year)

2. D-line. We have a lot of exciting potential in the young guys, and a lot of hope that Smith and Ellis step it up a notch or two under Spags. But what if neither happens?

Other than that no real concerns that worry me much.

I agree with both and in that order.

To me the biggest obstacle will be holding the team together with just an interim coach and an interim interim for the first six games. If the team can focus and "Just do their jobs" then they should be fine. Team chemistry is going to be more important than ever.

My concerns are all on the D side of the ball. Our offense is a go!

1. Health of certain D players. If Lofton goes down...
2. Our 9th string secondary getting scorched by Div QB's.. Newton and Freeman...

Yes my number one legitimate concern is the secondary

I'm concerned with authority with head coaches popping in and out. Everybody has their own personal stylings on how things should be conducted. There is a potential for some serious headbutting later in the season. It could cause division among players. I hope this is not the case but we won't know for a while.

I agree. There are quite a few teams that couldn't do this. They'd implode. It would only take a couple of guys saying things like "If the real coach were here, he wouldn't do it like that", loud enough in the locker room for things to sprial out of control quickly.

My primary concern's the secondary. (Injuries that is.)

Injuries.
Secondary.
Ridiculously uninformed posters.

Which is worse xan,

Ridiculously uninformed posters

or

Ridiculously uninformed sports media

I've noticed its becoming increasingly more difficult to distinguish between the two.

Injuries have to be the biggest concern, considering you can't win without players. Good players, anyway. After that, it's a tie between the D-line and the Secondary for me. I think the line is vastly improved, but I won't know till I see them play for more than 5 seconds. And while our Secondary is talented, they didn't live up to expectations last year.

I'm hoping that if we have a good pass rush, we'll see the secondary return to making big plays as they wouldn't have to cover for so long.

I've said this before and I still believe it... I don't think there will be any problems with locker room dissension. Sean isn't there this year, but it's not like he got fired. Players and coaches know he's coming back, so if they want to keep their jobs they will just do their jobs... Like that enormous picture of him says.

Not having our coach and losing our interim coach for 6 games, it messes with continuity.

As others have said our secondary.

Then offensive line

Then these repacement officials.

homerj07 08-08-2012 08:29 PM

Defensive backs or the lack therein

TheDeuce 08-08-2012 09:13 PM

1 - Secondary
2 - DEs

alleycat_126 08-09-2012 08:51 AM

1. Will Smith..... He really looks slow right now, if not for the situation and having to stick with the dudes who brought you to the dance it might be time to cut bait.

2. Scott Shanle.... Any time this dude is on the field its a liability and a concern... Come on Junior Gallette, Chamberlain, anybody take his job!!!!! PLEASSSSSSE!!!!!

oh and then d line, and secondary!!!! Shawn woulda hired got Mike Mckensie and Chris McCallister signed up by now... Get crackin on getting us some corner help Mickey!!!!!!!

Thats because we were forged in the fires of Mt. Doom... And Sproles carries the precious.

The Goodell-imposed coaching chaos is obviously a concern. I believe we have plenty of capable coaches on staff, but the lack of consistency from week-to-week will be a distraction.

Depth in the trenches could be a problem, too. Our starting O-line is very good, but there's a considerable drop in talent behind them. The D-line is in flux - it remains to be seen if that's a good or bad thing - but we desperately need more QB pressure than we generated last year (which had some effect on that DB performance everyone is worried about).

But from everything we have read, training camp has been run according to plan. Reporters keep trying to ask questions regarding this and I have heard Vitt say several times, this is the plan that was laid out by SP.

While there is the chance things could go south with the coaching changes, I think our benefit is that we knew this way in advance and are just going to follow the guidelines of SP.
