This is funny, I think y'all will get a big kick out of this. Enjoy!

Why Your Team Sucks 2012: Atlanta Falcons

p.s. several teams are not listed there. Our Saints sure aren't, lol.

The Dude 08-08-2012 06:57 PM

Because Matt Ryan shiits his pants better than he throws the football

The Dude 08-08-2012 06:58 PM

Because all the Atlanta fans are now Eagles fans because thats where Vick is.

Hah!! Now that was funny. Even from a whiney Vikings fan

I think the Saints is actually what made the Falcons so damn bad.

Falcons came out as a decent team in 2008, 1 year before the Saints SB run, why this is important I will tell you in a minute, but even though they lost to Arizona in the playoffs, they put up as much of a fight with Arizona as other teams have in the playoffs (except the Saints who flat out murdered them) during the course of the 2008-2009 seasons.

Then you begin to start seeing Atlanta transition some in 2009 up to currently. What they have been doing is trying to copy the Saints in every way possible.

Examples include Mike Smith going for it on 4th and 1 all the time and failing.

Trading many picks for Julio Jones in what is not only a run first offense, but you got a QB who cent even get the ball downfield more than 20 yards. They wanted a Robert Meachem/Devery Henderson on their team.

They already traded for Gonzo, I think this trade was after the Saints got Shockey, not sure on that though. Basically everyone in the NFCS went after a coveted TE after Shockey went to N.O.

This year we see the hiring of Mike Nolan for the Defense, but they hire a OC that wants to rely on spreading the ball around more (sound familiar?)
Sounds like something that may backfire since every time the Falcons have had to rely on Matt Ryan to throw the ball, it has put them in trouble.

I think thats how the Saints is responsible for the Falcons failures. The Falcons have not come up with their own Identity past 2008, they are trying to commit Identity theft LOL.

Why does Atlanta suck? Because some things just are, and that's one of them.

Is they?

Vrillon82 08-08-2012 10:00 PM

Well the most successful Falcons team in the playoffs under Matt Ryan was 2008.

Which was a period I believe the Falcons were doing what they want to do or should do instead of being copy cats.

It's a pass first league, with Brees, Payton, Carmichael, and our numerous receivers they had to transition in order to compete.

Before we had Drew they could get it done with a ball control run offense, same way the 49ers get it done in their division. Only the 49ers have the defense to make it work...

I don't see them as copy-cats, it's just the nature of the beast, we just beat them to it :bng:

Because they're the Faclowns.

And you can add a couple of more reasons to this list.

- What kills me is they started out as one team, Micheal Turner, Gonzo, good defense. And as we became the better team they went away from the things that got them where they were.
- Yes, Gonzo was hired after Shockey, and I don't think they have or had any backup plan in place for when he hit the wall.
- The whole Julio Jones debacle was done in order to be more explosive. Hasn't panned out yet. You either are, are you aren't.
- Jaquizz Rodgers, any body wanna tell me what they were trying to do with that pick..... Reggie, Darren!!!!

That was frikken AWESOME! I am still laughing inside, and will continue to laugh every time I hear the word Falcon.

rdanderson91 08-09-2012 09:08 AM

We score more than two points in the playoffs

SmashMouth 08-09-2012 09:26 AM

I know this has been posted before in other threads.... however, some reruns are just meant to be classics.
