You guys have a great fan based site here! Well done.

If you plan on attending the game this year in Charlotte, you should check out http://www.panthershuddle.com

We throw some pretty wild tailgates and saturday night pep rallies. They are usually sponsored with no cover and free brew. Good group of fans too, nothing more than a little light smack, as long as you are not from Philly.

Oh, BTW, thanks for taking the Hornets, and tell Shinn to stick it.

;)

No problem, great to have you on board! Love the friendly competition.

Oh, BTW, thanks for taking Delhomme. There\'s already enough ducks in Louisiana without him throwing even more. lol

ncpanther -- How\'s the off-season going for the Panthers? I know you guys lost a lot of offensive linemen, 3 I think? Is that going to hurt or do you think that line will be as good as last year?

How\'s the passing game looking this year? Will it be a high powered passing attack, or will the key to shutting down the Panthers once again be stopping Stephen Davis?

Welcome to the board. You\'ll find everyone here receptive to rival fans. Unlike a lot of other sites...... :D

Great questions.

On the O-Line:
I believe the line will actually be better this year. Jordan Gross is a natural LT and has moved over to that side replacing \"10 yards for holding\" Steussie. Adam Meadows a capable vert replaces him on the right side. Mitchell is the center, solid as always. Bruce Nelson is a pro bwol caliber gaurd IF his surgery went as good as they say it has. I don\'t know about Tuten, but he is replacing Jeno James who was an unkown at the start of the season last year. Our O-Line coach seems to know what he is doing.

I believe the Panthers will switch it up on O this year. You will see alot more of Deshaun Foster to spell Davis, maybe even replacing him. I believe Deshaun is the better back. Its a nice problem to have.

As far as passing goes you guys know about Jake. I love the guy. He does throw some ducks but man I would rather have that than a trent dilfer type who is afraid to sling the ball. I like it that he takes chances and has faith in Moose and Smith. We have Added Keary Colbert from USC in the draft, the alltime USC receptions leader above even Keyshawn. He got RAVE reviews from moni camp, apparently he came into camp knowing the entire playbook. Pretty smart guy if you ever hear him speak. They compare him to Keenan McCardell. Will be a solid 3rd wr for us this year.

All in all looking good!

ncpanther --

Thanks for the honest answers. You guys should be very proud of what your team accomplished last year. Your team certainly got on a roll last year and took it all the way to the super bowl.

But, this year you are the hunted rather than the hunter. That\'s brought a many a team down. Last years Bucs for example. That seems to be the trend in the NFL. Even the Patriots went from the super bowl to missing the playoffs a couple of years ago.

The offensive line might be as good as last year, although having that many new starters can\'t be looked on as a good thing, IMO. And it usually takes some time for that many new guys to get on the same page. COULD be some problems early on.

Also, Jake really wasn\'t a big part of the offense in the regular season and his overall play was average at best during the regular season. I\'m not sold that Jake and the Panthers can pull the games out of the fire like last season. I believe Jake is going to have to take his game to the next level for the Panthers to return to post season play.

I think the Panthers have just as good of a chance of winning the division as anyone else, but I\'d have to say the division is wide open at this point. We all know nothing is a given in the NFL.

Man, glad to have you aboard. Hope you\'ll be around for a long time...

Not true at all! Jake WON many games for us, the Bucs game at Car and the Jax game comes to mind, last minute TD drives. Jake is the real deal, this year will prove it. The guy is a leader, you can\'t teach that.

I think the Bucs biggest downfall last year was the injuries, not being the hunted. They have been hunted for many yreas now because of all the press they get.

You are right about the Cats though, no sneaking up on anyone this year. BUt we are ready! :o

.

It may very well be proven that Jake is the real deal. But, at this point I have some serious concerns.

Jake had a few comeback wins last year but lots of QB\'s have a season where they are able to pull some games out of the fire.

Personally, I\'m going to have to see more from him to prove it to me. I don\'t blame you for feeling like Jake is going the real deal because he might certainly go on to be just that.

Can he do it again? Who knows. My money says the Panthers will be better off relying on that strong running game and great defense and keep Jake in a position where he doesn\'t have to be relied on too much.

Personally, I don\'t think the Panthers are gonna run the ball nearly as well this year as they did last year. It remains to be seen, but I have my doubts. If that proves to be the case then Jake has the team\'s fortunes squarely on his shoulders. I am of the opinion that Jake deserved the contract he just signed, but he\'s about to have to prove it, and he won\'t be sneakin up on people this year. His WR\'s better hope they\'re livin blessed again this year, cause those air balls Jake likes to throw off his back foot...you know...those straight up in the air down the middle of the field jump balls...the ones they kept miraculously and annoyingly scoring on...didn\'t get any of \'em killed last year. We\'ll see if the football gods continue to bless \'em. I\'m happy for Jake, but I have my doubts. ;)

What do you think will happen when (ahem, I mean IF hehe) the Panthers stumble out of the gate and have a 1-4 record after week 6? Any \"cancers\" on your team that are bound to make trouble in such a situation? I just looked at the schedule:
Week 1: Packers
Week 2: @ Chiefs (Chiefs regular season home record last season: 8-0)
Week 3: BYE
Week 4: Falcons (with a still healthy Vick, we\'ll play them later in the season after he has been hit some)
Week 5: @ Broncos (regular season record at home 2003: 6-2)
Week 6: @ Eagles

Would you consider the Panthers-Bucs rivalry one of the big rivalries in the NFL (it came up in different thread)?
What\'s the biggest area of concern for the Panthers in your oppinion?

And welcome aboard.
The Saints and Panthers play their last game of the regular against each other this year. Could turn into the first play-off game for both teams.

Glad to hear a conference rival being cordial. We know you\'re not from Atlanta. ;)

Delhomme did pull out some last minute wins for you last year. I think his greatest asset is his attitude. He\'s got that fiery competitiveness that can be transferred to teammates on the field. I think Joe Horn has that on our team, but I don\'t see it from our QB. I still believe Brooks is a really good QB, but it would be nice to see more emotion from him. (I\'m not trying to open up an old sore here people, chill out).
