Pick your dark horse....

I am gonna make my pick as a darkhorse that i am surprised no one has mentioned. I am gonna say Cie Grant. I would think that someone would have picked a linebacker. One of these guys has to step up this year and with a year of learning the system, a year of NFL training, and an abundance of talent, i like Cie Grant to have a better than average year. Whether it be in the middle or on the weak side, i think he is gonna have a solid year.

I think several may be surprises, but a surprise would be playing much better than expected, here\'s my take...
Cie Grant-A full year at 240. He\'ll step up, but that won\'t really be a surprise.
Boo- He looked like a probowler in the 2nd half. He wouldn\'t really be a surprise
Brooks-He\'d have to put up 80\'s Marino-like numbers to surprise me.
Stallworth-He was supposed to last year, so he really wouldn\'t be a surprise.
Tebuckey Jones-I thought he did a good job at the FS position, especially late. When his tackling improves, he\'ll be the A-player we expected. So not a surprise.

A darkhorse is someone no one is expecting to excel, like Bellamy in 2003.
MY darkhorse for 2004 is
1-Sedrick Hodge, the physical freak of nature finally puts it together.
2-Fakhir Brown, Mike Mac-who?
3-James Allen, just in case I\'m wrong about Hodge

Booooo Williams (offense)

I believe he will top all tight ends in every category and make the pro bowl.

Fakhir Brown(defense)

will have more interception & pass defense out of every DB

I like the Mel Mitchell pick, I\'m truly curious to see what the kid can do.

For the haters on this board, I\'m tempted to say Aaron Brooks, because in their eyes the greatness we\'ll see from him this year might be a surprise.

I\'d love nothing more than for Boo Williams to make the Pro Bowl- there\'s no place like Hawaii to brag about being super bowl champ.

Montrae Holland is a smart pick too, he\'s looking more and more like a steal.

I\'d rather see Crowell blossom and be comeback player of the year than for Devery Henderson to catch a single pass, but GO TO HELL LSU. That\'s all I have to say about that.

I have my fingers crossed for Keyou. He has until training camp starts to get his head on straight, and if he does, he\'d be a sweet darkhorse, because it would be a guy figuring life out. Not holding my breath though.

My darkhorse? Michael Lewis. I\'ve read a great many posts (including my own) writing him off, but he\'s worked too hard to lose out now. If he\'s healthy this year, I look for him to become an MVP candidate as a returner, through sheer willpower if nothing else.

It\'s not a question of whether or not the Saints will win the Super Bowl this year. It\'s a question of which Saint will be the MVP of the game.

What do you mean I\'m not supposed to snort the granola?

On the other hand, if he develops into the leader we\'d like him to be, that would be a huge surprise and a very welcome one. I\'m going to go out on a limb and say this is the year he blossoms into a team leader. He\'ll find a leadership style that works for him and lead this team deep into the playoffs.

Oh my god, I must be hallucinating.

Danno - for the first time in a while we agree. I like that pick a lot.
